Just bought an Osborne about a week ago, immediately after carrying it for a day I ordered a deep carry clip from Benchmade, I don't mind it too much, I just don't want it sticking up where it can get hit or snagged while at work, gonna wait and get a few more Benchmades later on like the Bailout, Bugout, and if I can find one a Grizzly Ridge, if not the wood grain handle version will do

What would you recommend for fishing, cooking, EDC? BM Osborne, BM Bugout, BM Griptilian or Spyderco Delica?
@PreparedAirman2 жыл бұрын
My recommendation would be a Spyderco Pacific Salt its based off the endua 4 but will not rust at all due to the H1 steel. But if I had to pick one from the options you gave me I would go with the 940 Osborne, mainly for the comfortable grip, and sturdiness of the blade.

To especially cover the categories of fishing & cooking I’d recommend none of those… except for the mentioned Salt. You gotta put oil on your choices and you don’t want to worry about that contamination on a EDC food prep knife. To cover your wants I’d totally recommend a Quiet Carry Waypoint with the G10 scales (*for better grip). It’s under 3 Oz but over 3” blade and with a super performance Vanax blade, in addition to LC200N internals. You’re NEVER ever going to have worry about rust with this knife. Plus the blade is on the thinner side like a bugout so it’s also a amazing slicer. Honestly it’s one of the most amazing EDC knives made if your needs are not requiring a thick and heavy blade for serious abuse duty.

I haven't used the 945 or bugout mini before but from experience with he bigger brothers of both I personally have never felt the need to go smaller. They both aren't very big knives In my opinion. I carried a delica 4 a few years back good knife.

Design and ergo’s of the 940 are great. At least that’s my opinion. Bladeshape, handle, used materials etc. make it a really fantastic EDC. Only problem is that they must have monkeys working in the production lines. Never had so much issues with a knife. 25 euro Ganzo’s are better built than this so called “quality” product. First one I got I send back to the dealer in five minutes. Quality control is a joke at BM. Second one I got has been in use for a bit more than two months. And back to the dealer, blade was already off centered. It got bladeplay, which kept on coming back after tightening the pivot, spring broke, impossible to disassemble because of already stripped screws and to much locktite …… So maybe I wil get it back fixed, in a month or two. The dealer is ok. But BM is should be named BS. Maybe they dump the faulty knives in Europe? They don’t answer to emails from their clients there anyway.

4:55 Impossible. The Triage is designed as a multi-tool that can pry in a rescue situation, especially the blunt tip version, if you make it like the 940 you lose that capability.

There is a variant with carbon fiber scales, black G10, or the green anodized aluminum. A black blade may also be available but I don't see it on their site. The carbon fiber scale variant also switches the S30V blade for S90V, for better or worse.
