You're not only a knife collector and a user, but also a sharpening „connesoire“. Even people who knows sharpening do enjoy sharpening videos. Sharing your knowledge on this would make a lot of knife-fans happy. Thanks for all your efforts

I really really love listening to collectors explain the reasons behind their rankings and why they purchased a particular blade. I found my self agreeing and disagreeing throughout the video. Really loved that your focus was on the practicalities of the blades and not just the usual a regurgitation of materials & specs which really mean nothing. I admit I was hurt when you dissed my beloved ParaMilitary 2 but good news - I'll get over it. Sharp blades all.

I bought the Spyderco Watu based on your presentation of "underated" or "less well known" knives on KnifeCenter. I really like it, too. I also spent some serious money on a Arno Bernard knife with no regrets. Thanks for sharing your insights!

Chris Reeve and Wilson combat collaborating on a knife is amazing, both companies building to the tightest tolerance in their own respective fields. The fact that I didn’t know about this and Seth V is the one to tell me makes me less disappointed in myself.

For anyone else curious about the intro song, closest match is the song b3 from Chuck Person's Eccojams which is mostly just a slowed and looped part of Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty. The saxophone part isn't in the Eccojams version though so was maybe edited back into the song

Ok just to clarify... Small Sebenza 21 in 7th place (55:35), Large Sebenza 21 in 2nd place (1:00:08) and Large Sebenza 31 in 1st place (1:02:00)... Ok I need a Sebenza in my collection just for that reason 😂

Seth, I was already a fan. You completely won me with this. I agreed with nearly everything you said. I love my Delica Wharncliffe. I agree with you regarding tip down carry on the Spyderco Military. Lastly, I have had more than a few CRK Knives go in and out of my collection. I was recently able to purchase a Large Sebenza 31 and I went with the Small Inkosi. For me, they are the knives that I compare everything else to. All the other knives are "in addition to" what I consider the best investment one can make when purchasing a folding knife. The Sebenza is almost as good as cash. They hold their value. I owned more expensive knives and was left wanting. I have a few Spydercos and a couple fixed blades on my want list. The only other thing I will buy are CRK folders. Your calm, insightful presentation is greatly appreciated. I will watch this again.
@Leviathanshadex7 күн бұрын
This was an incredibly impressive video. I can tell that you hold a true appreciation for knives, and can really empathize with the types of sentiments that lead people to collect them. The fact that you had good things to say about every knife in your collection went a long way towards adding value to the content, and calming everyone's feelings, since even I came into this hoping to see my favorite knife near the top of the list. Given your presentation style, and your willingness to highlight the benefits of all the knives in your collection, I think this would have been an equally enjoyable viewing experience even if my favorite was at the bottom of your list.

Glad you enjoyed it! The ranking was a fun thought experiment and organizing principle for the video but you’re right, it's all about the knives.

Hey man, what a whooper of a first video, and well done. Im 15 minutes in presently but really connect with your preferences and thought process. No collection is complete without a little Sanrenmu knife or two :D My first "quality" locking knife from some 6-7 years ago is a little SRM 6040 that resides on my car keys to this day. It is for sure my most used and useful knife (besides the ones in the kitchen), it came to the rescue so many times. Until I bought it, my idea of a pocket knife was either a swiss army knife or a rickety, wobbly fleamarket Chinese knife. When I felt that solid lockup and overall sturdiness of a such small knife, I was blown away. I was so frustrated I could not flick it open with the thumbstuds like I saw on the Youtubz. Bear in mind it is a stiff, tiny, backlock, but I eventually got it to flick out after many hours of practice, polishing the washers, tuning the pivot, etc. Don't get me started how my brain exploded when I got one of their 7010 Sebenza copies. After that the big SRM Land 911, the rabbit hole got deeper and deeper... To this day I have hoarded over 120 folders, from various brands and price points. Still, the SRM 6040 remains one of my favourites.

I want to thank you for your amazing work on this project as well as I have ever seen in anyone's knife collection!! I have learned more about the history of Spyderco in this video than I can ever imagine. I have hated Spyderco knives for their shitty handles and the ugliest looking knives ever. I have recently broke down and bought a Yojimbo 2,Manix 2, and PM2 just to have in my collection basically to make comparison with most reviews on KZbin and shut my friends up for years of consistent harassment on my lack of experience in the hobby 😂. I have modified all of them to AWT scales and all the latest internals and I like them. I have to say that I give you some of the utmost respect for your collection and the dedication to the ability to keep all of them in the best condition of actual users and the perspective from actually working with them in edc! Fantastic video presentation dude! Thank you!

There were some major surprises for me. The spydie chef being rated so high. That knife with the massive fullers was a “what knife is that?!” moment. The OZ being ranked as low as it was. But gotta love this stuff. This is HIS collection and HIS list and I was here for it. Need to get me a Sebenza someday. I am sold. I own a umnumzaan but that will not be my only CRK now. This man LOVES him some spyderco, so do I.

I have been collecting for over 50 years, and obviously have accumulated a lot of knives, but the Enzo is hard to beat!

4:20 I could not source a Hap 40 SUS 410 Spyderco for nothing. I ordered a grey Delica to have what Nick Shabazz had and saw the wharnrcliffe version on the site, back when Blade HQ had a brick & Mortar in American Fork. I couldn't believe it because it ticked so many boxes for me. They both came and i never opened the gray, but carried only the wharnie for over a year. It was my favorite and then one day I got a chance to get a HAP 40 and it was my favorite model! WHOO HOO! Now I also have what Seth V has! Coolness!
