I bought the Spyderco Watu based on your presentation of "underated" or "less well known" knives on KnifeCenter. I really like it, too. I also spent some serious money on a Arno Bernard knife with no regrets. Thanks for sharing your insights!

That is the fastest I have ever heard Seth talk about single knives LOl. Him saying he needs to go faster to get through the video and then still taking the same amount of time on each knife. Cool collection. Thanks for sharing.
@5t3phen10 сағат бұрын
Wow, you have alot of obscure Spyderco models that I haven't even heard of before! My personal favorite Spyderco is the Canis. Im a sucker for a good wharncliffe and Im just disappointment that there aren't alot of other knives out there on the market that do as good of a job of being a tactical wharncliffe as the Canis does. The Yojimbo 2 comes close but the tip on it gets so thin near the end of the spine that I get nervous that the tip will break opposed to the Canis that has a beefed up tip on the end instead. Plus that Taichung QC really seals the deal for me choosing the Canis over the Yojimbo 2.
@LAG3Сағат бұрын
Seth, I was already a fan. You completely won me with this. I agreed with nearly everything you said. I love my Delica Wharncliffe. I agree with you regarding tip down carry on the Spyderco Military. Lastly, I have had more than a few CRK Knives go in and out of my collection. I was recently able to purchase a Large Sebenza 31 and I went with the Small Inkosi. For me, they are the knives that I compare everything else to. All the other knives are "in addition to" what I consider the best investment one can make when purchasing a folding knife. The Sebenza is almost as good as cash. They hold their value. I owned more expensive knives and was left wanting. I have a few Spydercos and a couple fixed blades on my want list. The only other thing I will buy are CRK folders. Your calm, insightful presentation is greatly appreciated. I will watch this again.

Hey man, what a whooper of a first video, and well done. Im 15 minutes in presently but really connect with your preferences and thought process. Spyderco is probably my favorite brand overall, and moki is so underrated. I love backlocks and Japanese knives. The Stretch and more recently the Leafjumper are some of my all time favorite users.

No collection is complete without a little Sanrenmu knife or two :D My first "quality" locking knife from some 6-7 years ago is a little SRM 6040 that resides on my car keys to this day. It is for sure my most used and useful knife (besides the ones in the kitchen), it came to the rescue so many times. Until I bought it, my idea of a pocket knife was either a swiss army knife or a rickety, wobbly fleamarket Chinese knife. When I felt that solid lockup and overall sturdiness of a such small knife, I was blown away. I was so frustrated I could not flick it open with the thumbstuds like I saw on the Youtubz. Bear in mind it is a stiff, tiny, backlock, but I eventually got it to flick out after many hours of practice, polishing the washers, tuning the pivot, etc. Don't get me started how my brain exploded when I got one of their 7010 Sebenza copies. After that the big SRM Land 911, the rabbit hole got deeper and deeper... To this day I have hoarded over 120 folders, from various brands and price points. Still, the SRM 6040 remains one of my favourites.

I didn’t even realize they had a green version of the stabnana. I would have bought that in a heart beat. I love heretic stuff. I have a custom heretic manticore x with a magnacut blade with a black satin dlc finish, hefted aluminum handles, a carbon fiber button and a flamed titanium pocket clip. I just got it, it’s my grail knife and the nicest knife I’ve ever seen in person. Pictures don’t do the blade justice. The way the blade shines, the color of the shine and how flawless it is, is on a level I’d never seen prior
@slick_slicers18 сағат бұрын
I almost didn’t watch this simply because it was over an hour, but I’m really glad I did. The highlights for me was the High position of the Enzo./Bisa knives. I’m in the UK so I have a number of Enzo PK70's which have been, and remain my favourite UK EDC knives. I have been collecting for over 50 years, and obviously have accumulated a lot of knives, but the Enzo is hard to beat!

Seth, do you ever make adjustments to your knives? They’re technically mods but I’m talking more about quality of life improvements. I find that Emersons can be massively improved for carry and use with a few tweaks like radiusing the corners of the G10, adding a little relief in strategic places, and convexing the bevel side of the a-symmetrical grind. The convex side makes them cut more like a Yakut. Emersons are so basic but they offer a solid canvas that’s easy to modify with very basic tools. I think you’d enjoy that Emerson a lot more if you spent a little time with files, sandpaper, and stones. None of my Emersons are untouched unless they’re pristine collector pieces (but that’s kind of heretical for an Emerson, of course).

Id love to put together a presentation like this but I do not have a voice for radio nor a face for KZbin 😂 Cheers!

FWIW, send the 21 into CRK for a new blade. You'll wait a long time, but you'll get better steel (magna cut if they've worked through older stock) but still have the sweet lockup of the 21. The 31 is awesome, but a magna cut 21 would be even cooler.

I want to thank you for your amazing work on this project as well as I have ever seen in anyone's knife collection!! I have learned more about the history of Spyderco in this video than I can ever imagine. I have hated Spyderco knives for their shitty handles and the ugliest looking knives ever. I have recently broke down and bought a Yojimbo 2,Manix 2, and PM2 just to have in my collection basically to make comparison with most reviews on KZbin and shut my friends up for years of consistent harassment on my lack of experience in the hobby 😂. I have modified all of them to AWT scales and all the latest internals and I like them. I have to say that I give you some of the utmost respect for your collection and the dedication to the ability to keep all of them in the best condition of actual users and the perspective from actually working with them in edc! Fantastic video presentation dude! Thank you!

Wonderful collection Seth. Now I'm stating an opinion here, that's all this is, but the drop bear being the best knife Kizer makes? It's a GREAT knife, but I'm not so sure it's the BEST. Please don't get me wrong Seth, everything you said about the Drop Bear is 100% fact, I know because I have two of them, the Ti LC200N version (which I've customized myself with my own unique style & with my own anodizing equipment & own hardware, couldn't stand the yellow into clear into blue finish) & the Medusa S35VN version, I truly love them both, they are both truly FANTASTIC knives, however another Kizer I have, that I will always truly adore, is the Titanium Kizer Sparrow in S35VN with Skiffs (I put in most of mine) a Chaves Scapegoat Street in M390 with skiffs is off the chain, although I cannot stand the skull pocket clip & I made a custom clip out of the normal one that comes in the box. Anyway, lol I digress, for my money the Drop Bear is absolutely phenomenal in EVERY way, however there's (for me) just something about the Ti Sparrow in S35VN that just feels so unbelievably right that it's impossible for it to be wrong lol I also customized the one I had, I recently gave it as a gift to a knife maker friend of mine because I wanted him to enjoy it too & he absolutely loves it, lol I had to go out & buy another which I've just finished customizing for myself, because the Titanium Kizer Sparrow in S35VN is really that amazing a tool. Take care mate.
