So jimping: Obviously a personal preference. To say jimping ruins a knife is purely subjective. I like jimping. Lots of it. So much that I attacked my Kershaw Knockout with the Dremel and she is jimped to high heck. Love it. Also, deep-carry clips; likewise purely a personal preference. First move on any knife for me is to toss the deep-carry clip for a normal clip. I want to be able to grab my knife without digging for it. It's a tool for me and when I want to deploy it it needs to be right now accessible. For you tacticool types, never bring a knife to a gun fight. .45 ACP is a far better tool for self protection than any fast-draw knife. Good review Bearded. Just my two cents.

Good review, Jake. I had some points to redeem at DLT, so I just snagged this one. I'm also a sucker for that colorway. I missed the REC Shaman, so this one came along at just the right time. I've had a bit of a love-hate relationship with Benchmade knives over the years, but I do like the brand. When they get it right they really get it right (Super Freek, Bugout, Barrage, etc.), but I've been disappointed a number of times, too, mostly with fit and finish issues. And I agree about BM catering more to the enthusiast knife community, it's absolutely something they should focus on. Anyway, cheers!

Excellent review! Just ordered a mini Adamas in black and tungsten gray after also missing the REC Shaman exclusive. Can't wait until it arrives. Keep the reviews coming brother!

Really liking all I've been hearing about this knife. Still torn between mini and full size but overall one I'm very interested in. Great review 👍

I’ve handled bolth. The full size is big enough to warrant getting a fixed blade instead.

Seems like a cool knife. Omega springs have been hit or miss for me. I have a mini grip that after about 3 1/2 years the omega springs broke. I also have a bugout that after 2 weeks an omega spring broke. I have a griptilian that has never had one break. Other Benchmades I've had haven't either. So in my experience it is hit or miss. I still like the axis lock anyway.

I just got the black one from a local dealer. Do you have any advice on how to get that ultra smooth drop action? I’ve been opening and closing repeatedly but anything else? Thanks a lot.

Mine has vertical blade play and Benchmade says it's a known issue. They are "considering the proper fix" before having me send it in. Curious if anyone else has the same issue. Not sure if it's loose springs or what.
@craige19653 жыл бұрын
Mine has a very slight vertical blade play that I noticed after playing with the knife for two weeks straight, I tightened the pivot very slightly and now there is no blade play 🤷🏻♂️. I wonder what their fix will be and if we can do it ourselves or will we have to send the knife back.
@PapaGanoush073 жыл бұрын
Update - Benchmade is redesigning the blade to fix the vertical play issue. If anyone else notices this about their knife and wants to call them to bump it up in priority ...have at it. I am disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm on their end to fix a design flaw. It has been many months since the botched launch.

Mine has up and down play too. Not much just a slight clicking. For the money I spent, I want it to be perfect. My 35 dollar Rat 1 knife has no play at all.

Great review. Between this Benchmade, the PM2 and the Ad 20.5 what would be your pick?

I really don’t know what to do. I pre ordered the new carbon fiber s90v bug out and I love it right. Within the first 30 days probably even 2 weeks one of the omega springs broke on me. I sent it off and just got it back about 2 weeks ago I guess give or take a couple days. I’m not even kidding you when I say it just broke on me again 2 nights ago. I mean I can show pictures video and paperwork from the first time I sent it off whatever and I only say that because it this seems to be so rare that I feel like no one will believe me. I don’t understand if I’m doing something wrong which I can’t imagine what or how I would be. I fidget with it fairly frequently but nothing crazy. The other night I just opened it up and when I went to close it I heard like a pop and thought yea no way it’s anything wrong again... but sure enough a piece of the spring was hanging again. I gave the knife a little shake and out falls the piece of broken spring. I didn’t think I should have had to pay shipping and handling the first time since the knife is $255 and broke within the first couple weeks and now I’m like I really don’t wanna out even more money into it again but I’m torn because other than that aside from it breaking I freaking love the knife! I really do. Idk what to do man. Also this is my first ever Benchmade. I have a zT 0562ti and I love that thing too although it’s a brick and I don’t think you could break it if ya tried

I'd order new omega springs, there are upgrades out there, and replace yourself. If those break, you have a defective knife.

I have had similar issues with Benchmade. I have seen others say the same. I gave up. It's completely unacceptable for the price of the knives. Never had a single problem with any of my budget civivi or coldsteels and certainly not with my other premium knives. They would be awesome if they paid more attention to quality control. It's sad. Zt is awesome though. Sorry about your Benchmade problem.

Buy omega springs from EDCacord on Etsy and fit them yourself. They are much better quality wire than the originals. Every Benchmade Axis lock knife I have ever owned I have broken the omega springs.

The contouring of the G-10 scales takes out any sharp spots from the liners and you can’t have a better EDC Tactical/cutting tool. I have the black Mini Adamas w/tungsten Cerakote blade finish, and the blade right out of the box was razor sharp.#benchmade/mini adamas!!😝
