There's a reason clubs like to have a 3rd older GK that is likely to almost never play and they still pay them a lot. While the main Goalkeeper is getting the training for the game, the 2nd and 3rd GK's are the ones used for training drills for the outfield players. So while they don't play, they still have a part in a club's success.

Same thing for Alexandre Letellier for PSG. He signed on 2020 for the club to reach the amount of homegrown players for Champions League. He never was the main GK in his team, so he has only 92 appearances at 33 years old. And now, he's like the 5th choice in GK behind Donnarumma, Tenas, Navas and Rico
