G-Men tried to trade up for Maye and Pats said no. Most of us Giants fans are fine with them taking Nabers as opposed to forcing McCarthy as the pick. It was the choice of a Tier 1 WR or a Tier 3 QB with the 6th pick. If Giants had a top 3 pick they'd have gone QB but they didn't so they did what they should have. Unless McCarthy has a CJ Stroud type rookie year (which is highly doubtful) the Nabers pick will look fine in a year.

I'm still laughing at the "generational talent" label. along with comparing him to Mahomes, I think that a lot of fans & analysts are in denial. The more accurate comparison is of course to someone with an identical skill set & who is almost in the same tier as him in those skills. Justin Fields. & you know what? If you play the "I can't really tell the difference between them based on these highlights" game, just shift to the "who throws the most unnecessarily bad passes that can put the receiver in danger or allow the defense to make a play" game. Fields has 2 such kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3uyYoOpqtV5lbc. Caleb? Double digits. If you watch these highlights one after the other this way, Fields is clearly more accurate & a batter rusher. Caleb misses more passes in fewer attempts. Enjoy your 4th-rounder!

@@Theonlyatoz Maybe. Or is Eberflus a micro-manager who can't help himself? When he got busy acclimating Montez Sweat & the new DC to the team the Bears went on only their 2nd good offensive streak since Eberflus & Getsy took over. So Getsy had more control over the offense for that streak & used the plays from the 3-week stretch that made the Bears the #1 offense in the NFL _BEFORE_ they acquired D.J. Moore. So it was _Eberflus who _*_cancelled_* all the great plays that made their offense work 3 Separate Times including right from the get-go. So, is he a control freak who would rather the team stuck to His Plays even if that means they lose? So far, yeah. IO mean he Intentionally Tanked The Offense At Least Twice. The only other alternative I see is that this was all deliberate to undermine _Fields_ which is possible. Eberflus seems to have charisma & gets away with bragging about running a worse offense than Matt Canada. If this has been like this his whole life, yeah, he's probably gotten away with being inept &/or toxic his entire life & did it here again. I mean I'm not even an analyst. So _how_ did *all the analysts miss* that he ruined this offense 3 times in 2 years? Everyone who mentions that they stopped using the designed QB rushes blames Getsy, the guy who brought them in.

I'm a little sick of the narrative that the Falcons didn't do anything to address the pass rush in the draft because they took Penix at 8. They spent their next 3 picks on defensive lineman, two of which lead the college football in QB pressures at Edge and DT respectively. The Falcons should have a much stronger rotation on the DLine which help with creating consistent pressure even if they still don't have 1 Alpha pass rusher in their room.

Also, we have no idea what Dallas Turner will be in the NFL as a pass rusher. Though pass rush is important, I never hear stats on pass rushers touting how many playoff wins they have or how many superbowls they have won or lost.....i do hear that about QBs though. The Ravens were 1st in sacks last year. The Chiefs were 2nd. The Ravens weren't in the Superbowl. And the credit for winning the Superbowl is not attributed the the chiefs' pass rush...as good as it was. That crown is laid up on the head of QB Patrick Mahomes. And regarding his beloved Patriots and Drake Maye, "He has a lot of work to do. A lot of work." - Jared Mayo. But hey he's putting in that work staying late after practice to get on the same page with everyone else!

What people don’t remember is that the colts secondary was hurt and young last year. Our number one corner who was playing top 16 (Baker Jr) got hurt early in the year, and our FS was in and out all year. Our secondary actually looks like this: a top 3 slot corner, a top 16 outside corner, a third CB who’s coming off of a super promising rookie season, a backup who also had a good rookie season, a borderline pro-bowl SS, and admittedly a question mark at FS (but there are still a bunch of answers we could grab in FA)

I'm not a Falcons fan, but I'm starting to like the Penix pick because it is super Maddenesque. Falcons haven't had a winning season since 2017. Green Bay has clearly demonstrated that making first round QBs sit for a few years can be a winning strategy. Kirk is coming off an injury, and having a solid backup QB is important to every franchise. I think they didn't think they could trade down very far and still get him because of other QB needy teams, like the Raiders. Penix himself has a little bit of an injury history and could use some time to solidify an NFL body. They also already have quite the group of offensive skill players, and drafted heavily to improve a weak defense. I don't hate it.
@Chadillac-xq7xk28 күн бұрын
