hey ben. i seldom comment on videos but yours mean a lot to me; they've helped me a ton with skating, at the very least. watching you skate always makes me want to skate. i took a hard fall on my right knee 2 weeks ago (of course, right after the best i've ever felt on my board). it was the worst pain i've ever felt, popping and weak and locking up now even when i'm just walking. going to see the orthopedist next week and staying off my board in the interim at doctor's orders. i've been feeling pretty bummed, and even more so to hear you're injured too. i just wanna wish you a very quick and painless recovery. hopefully, we'll be back somewhere around 100% soon. i'll be looking forward to your next video, whenever it comes. thanks for everything and best, nash.

My knee used to pop when I would extend my leg after bending, one day it wasn't a satisfying pop but rather it was a gnarly crunch. That threw me into the vicious cycle of the bucket handle locking my knee, had to get the meniscectomy to take care of it in 2017 but it was well worth it! I still baby that knee a lot though, even years after surgery which has led to hip soreness, tight hamstrings, etc. Somehow I haven't been able to unlearn the behavior of protecting that knee at the cost of other joints.

That sucks bad. I saw this video last night and had bad dreams about it. I hope you have a complete recovery and don't have to have surgery. Or, at least if you do need surgery, I hope everything gets back to normal. The disturbing thing is the fact that it didn't happen from a bad slam. I'm 50 and started skating again after a good 30 years and have been watching your channel. I had a bad ankle injury back in 2001 and figured that was it for me for skating. But luckily by miracle it's actually been doing good. My front knee feels a little off. I don't know if it's what you called jumper's knee. Someone intentionally drove into the side of my leg in a car while I was cycling awhile back and it tweaked it. No crunching or anything. It just goes to show that you never know when something bad will happen. Skating is just hard on the body when it comes down to it. I've mostly just been cruising around, not do much more than carving, manuals, and ollies. I have to be careful though because I live in a hilly area and I have 63mm Mini Logo AWOL wheels which are extremely fast. It's easy to get going fast and if something goes wrong going down even not that big of a hill it could result in a bad slam. Everyday I wake up and do so without health problems, I am thankful. Get well soon Ben. But give it time to heal and don't push on it if it seems like it's getting better. And get it checked out by a doctor. Luckily you are in Canada where you don't have to go bankrupt to get medical care.
