Just how skateparks have been embracing pool coping and brick obstacles, I really really want to see parks with ledges without coping. Especially when costs are cut, bad aluminum coping feels infinitely less satisfying than a raw concrete ledge, and is much less consistent. Sometimes it’ll slide perfectly, and sometimes the last try scraped all the wax of the metal and you start sticking a bunch. Buttered up concrete ledges give a super consistent and satisfying feel. That is my Ted talk on ledges

i got these uber light grind king 5.0s on an 8.1875 tapered hookups board with 60mm 97a santa cruz wheels and it was just gonna be the board i keep in my trunk but surprisingly i think the fact that the kicks are so tapered and the wide heavy wheels balancing out the narrow light trucks, it pressure flips pretty well and just sucks to my feet well even on a pop shuv

skateboarding is sooo nasty because you can take an angle of what you like and run away haha Thats why Im gonna stick with a 14.5 wheel base, 8.3 width, indy trucks, and bones wheels,... for now....

When you get older you need a quicker pop

Why 8.5 axle on 8.38 width board🤷🏻
@ndalyth9219Күн бұрын
What if I’ve got a nut stuck on the axle? I put the wrong nut on new trucks while putting bearings in and put it at its tightest and now it won’t loosen it spins but won’t come off

I didnt even apply the coming off bit. You basically come out of it the opposite way you go in. Pushing it backwards. Diagonally out. To fakie. No nollie out.

Totally off topic but what jeans are you wearing in this video? I’ve been looking for some good jeans to wear with my NB 306 Jamie foys haha

I live right across the border in Bellingham and am wondering what some good parks are in Vancouver for a day trip, anyone have good recommendations?

Gotta stop smoking them fatties in the parking lot before work bro! Like I tell my employees, U have from 4:00pm until 8:00am to smoke like Cheech & Chong, the rest is work time

We say "maintenance sessions" often now but never used to. But like Ben said in another video "I don't know about you but I like landing tricks" and I agree, doing a bunch of well landed "easy" tricks with speed feels good so I might as well. Competing with your old best stinks for sure and some scarier tricks don't have enough reward vs risk to make me try them. but I didn't have a lot of the common park tricks so now that I have a nice local park, I can do several things that I just never did before so I can feel good about that, technically it's better than my old best!

Been riding tighter trucks for a few weeks after watching this and my tricks, especially nollie, feel really stable. Good vid.

Spacers make bearings work as they are intended to. To not use spacers is to not get the best from the bearings. Kinda like doing drywall without using tape on joints...you can do it, but results won't be ideal.

what trucks would you recommend for a 13.75 wheelbase ?
@Curbsandrails4 күн бұрын
Ben! Even though we chatted about these a couple weeks ago, I did not ask what my madness really wants to know. From your time skating them did you notice blunts/tailslides sliding any easier with the WB moved inward?(having more tail to slide on)
@ghostpopper33205 күн бұрын
Say "No" to truck madness.

I agree with this method of learning back tails

6:20 #3 is the main reason. used to skate street with small wheels / 50mm's (more control, didn't like the speed of bigger wheels) but couldn't get much pop, then added risers and it was the perfect combo.

I just put my original 139's on my 8.25 after riding venture 5.25's for 4 years and it feels really squirrely at times. I might go back to the ventures.

The narrow arch is what kept me from skating it and the collar was not padded enough to keep the shoe snug on my feet. Other wise, I’d love that shoe for skating

Hello Sir, im wanting to build a 2 ft tall mini half in the basement for my daughter. I ride as well. I realize the transition for this could get wonky quick. I do need it aggressive enough for railslide, ect. What foot radius might you rec? Thank you kindly.

Put a flat washer under your top bushing, the professor hack, you won’t be able to wheel bite without running the top washer. Game changer
