Does the base line need to be in one group with the main shape? having trouble with the base line part
@rinbandanasonyeondansanada40565 жыл бұрын
so I selected the component, activated shape bender, the cursor changed for me to choose the base line but I can't select any line in the component no matter what I do? After watching your other video for curved balcony, I drew another straight line outside the component that runs along the red axis, but still got a message saying "Please select a line that is drawn on the red axis" :(
@Thesketchupessentials5 жыл бұрын
The line shouldn't be in the component. It should be outside the component
@rinbandanasonyeondansanada40565 жыл бұрын
yes as I said, it is outside the component, along the red axis, yet I still get the error message to tell me to do what I already did...
@Traderhood5 жыл бұрын
@@rinbandanasonyeondansanada4056 The straight line under the component doesn't have to be on the red line. Curved line needs to be on the red line. So steps are: Create flat group or component you want to bend. Outside of that group you want to bend draw a STRAIGHT line. Then draw a CURVED line across the red line. Then to bend the shape: 1. Select the component/group you want to bend 2 Click on Shape Bender icon or select Shape Bender from extension menu. 3. Click on straight line. 4. Click on curved line.

SO.... Took me a while to get this working.... But it seemed it was my custom TEMPLATE I was using that was the problem.. I was doing everything right but it just would not work. Group target - straight line and curved line on red axes. I just would not work. I think it may have been something to do with the Axes. I ended up using Construction Documentation - Millimeters and it worked fine. SO IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE TRY CHANGING THE TEMPLATE AND RESTARTING SKETCHUP AND TRY AGAIN ! Hope this helps some of you..

Please help, I have a project, and this is very important :") Thank you!

I'm not aware of a way to curve along multiple curves at once. You could curve along one, then go back and run it again along a different curve...
