Loving the journey on Obsidian Publish and your Timelime. I've been using Publish for about a year and find that there is less friction using this than hosting a blog.

I agree, there's almost no friction. To some extent I was already experiencing that, as the Micro Publish plugging makes publishing Obsidian notes on Microblog super easy. But I had to still deal with the blog settings and other small inconveniences. Publish will definitely make things much easier. I just wish it had a way to style the layout as something more similar to a traditional blog.

Thanks for digging into Obsidian Publish. I, too, would love to replace my website with Obsidian Publish, but I also want to maintain only one vault. I know Publish will allow you to filter what goes live online and what doesn't, but do you have any concern that some of your private notes like journals, etc. will somehow land on your public website through a backlink or some other mistaken process?

Excellent question. I have the same concern as well.

Chris, technically speaking it is quite simple to accidentally upload any note, as any note can become a part of the site. That said, there are ways to make an accident like that less likely to happen. For example, you can do what I did, and create a folder dedicated to all the files related to the site. That will help you focus on that folder when uploading things. Complementing that, there's another setting that can hide folders from the uploading workflow. I took note to make a video talking about this and showing the settings.

@@vladcampos For right now I am keeping my published site in a separate vault and simply synching a folder in my primary vault to the vault that is published. This might lead to some broken links at some point, but I would rather risk a broken link than having personal information exposed on the web. :) Thanks for all the great content you produce. I know it takes time, but I've learned a lot watching your videos.

Hey Vlad, where’s the link you mentioned about the bending spoons’ email?

It's in the description under "Resources and References".

Keep cool Vlad and enjoy holidays, your videos are great ✌️but no need to have one on every day 🤷🏼♂️

Thanks, you too! 🎄 I was actually enjoying the every day video. But it is definitely a lot of work.
