Jesus! How beautiful! She is just one of my favorite guitarists out there right now. Period. Her phrasing and musicality in general is simply out of this world. The nuance in her playing never fails to pull me in and hold me there.

We are two senior jazzplayers, to whom you have become one of our favorite youtube artists. Not only are you very pretty when you play, your playing is extraordinary and from a jazzplayers view you have a very fine balance between the classical feel, with all the ritardandos etx and the flow of the rytm. Just exelent. We love you.

Beautiful! How can anyone give this a “thumbs down”? Stephanie’s technique is flawless and there is such expression of emotion in her playing. I love it!
@markus-hermannkoch17403 жыл бұрын
Following quite a few contemporary virtuosos, I am also baffled by this. It seems, regardless how brilliant the performance, there are always 2-3% thumbs down among the evaluations. Troll noise. Considering this, Ms. Jones does actually pretty well, at least while I write these lines.
@aliasoma3 жыл бұрын
It likely has nothing to do with her playing. Sometimes the YT algorithms suggest things to people that they aren't interested in, so they vote down so the algorithm learns they aren't interested in a particular type of content.
@rogerpersell85003 жыл бұрын
Ha! Just posted something similar - I also follow several guitarists of Stephanie’s generation as well as many of the generation between, say, John Williams and Stephanie. She’s simply spectacular in all ways. Her technique is brilliant, but so too is her evocative musicality. A star.
@bndeyo3 жыл бұрын
I rarely see a video of any style, however good, which has lots of thumbs but that 2% or more of them are down. This is partly legit opinions, and partly trolls. This video has less than 0.5% thums down. The legit opinions are unanimous, but there are still a few trolls- that's my take, and I'm sticking to it....

I have the honour of knowing both of the two leading guitarists of the previous generation, John Williams and Göran Söllscher, and have heard them live more times than I can remember. I prefer your more open tone giving that large timbre in everything you do. I played you for Göran and he agreed with me, you will be the greatest guitarist of this generation if you keep at it.

I’ve been listening to most of the guitarists of this younger generation and completely agree. The musicality and skill are at their utmost. Superlative playing. Add in Stephanie’s ventures into lesser known compositions, and we should feel thrilled to be able to enjoy this consummate artist!

Hey Carl. I go back a little further (Segovia, Williams, Bream, Parkenning). But I agree - that - as opposed to 3 or 4 A+ guitarists, the world has cranked out a couple dozen brilliant players - Stephanie among them for sure. But there are others (you must have listened to Kyuhee Park?). We are blessed to have these artists sharing their talent in 2021. The great lifeguard will probably call me out of the pool before the next generation - but wow - where do we go from here??

Well, this was lovely. I don't know if you read your video comments, but I hope you do. I am a retired symphony/opera/ballet musician and I have played with every great soloist there is/was, beginning in 1975. When I say that your musicianship is second to none, I am not exaggerating. Well done!

No great presentation without great recording chops. Steph, you are definitely on top of this aspect of your KZbin vids. It allows us to fully hear/appreciate the music, and for that I am grateful and in admiration. I imagine it's nearly impossible to book a studio in these pandemic times - you have evidently achieved studio-quality recording in your home.

Her sound engineer and video producer was a fellow student and a very good player in his own right, Jakob Schmidt. I believe that they utilize various practice spaces and presentation halls at the conservatory decorated and lit to suit the piece being recorded. They are quite the team and as you say the videos are of studio quality.

Dearest Stephanie, I just lost my most wonderful and beautiful friend. She just happened to be a Dog: Her name was Zoey. For twelve years, she was with me, more than my own shadow, now I don't even notice that I ever had a shadow, of my own. If I wrote a piece for Zoey, this is exactly the sound it would make. I cried through every moment of your playing, remembering and missing my Girl. My heart, breaking with each note you played; Pain and Joy meshing perfectly. Realizing, they were always one and the same. I know of your love for your Dog, only when I saw the both of you at the end of one of your performances. Your love was embedded so deeply in your eyes as you held your Friend. Thank you so much for reminding me of how special Zoey's life was, and still is. You're a Gift to us All. I now have a New Friend; we'll never meet but, I think there's a little room left in my Heart for additional beauty. I only know who I think you are through your Music. Your Craft, has released your Soul from the normal confines of our physical encumbrance. You soar on wings of understanding, willingly sharing your knowledge and every experience, with each of us. Zoey, would have loved you so. As I said before. WHAT A GIFT YOU ARE. I do hope what you share so freely through your Music, is felt in reciprocation from the multitude of lives you have permanently altered. I speak now, as one of many but to even try to imagine, All of the pure energy, from our thoughts and emotions, reaching you simultaneously; would almost be cruel. Not many could assimilate the onslaught of love and respect, so many of us feel toward you, especially if it reached you, at the same time. For some reason, with you, it might just be a typical day and at some point in time, it would be returned, reshaped and repurposed, as Music. Music you've given to us all as easily and unassumingly as One would share a Smile and a Kindness with a fellow inhabitant, of the World. A World I am so grateful to exist in at a time and moment which co-incides with Stephanie Jones's Life-Cycle. All of what I've said, only has meaning because of you and the indelible imprint you've left on us all. Without you.... they simply become words again. Once again, thank you. Michael
