Nightwing alludes to the destruction of Malina Island, which happened in "Alienated". He suspects that the bomb that was used may have been smuggled through a boom tube, which was Superboy's theory in "Salvage". Nightwing also states that Psimon has been in a catatonic state since his last skirmish with Miss Martian. The last documented encounter between them took place in "Image", where Miss Martian bested Psimon. However, given the five year time skip, they could have had other run-ins. Icicle Jr. refers to previous fights between Psimon and Miss Martian, as shown in "Bereft" and "Image". Psimon mentions that Batman is out of the picture; he left the planet with the other accused Leaguers at the end of "Alienated". Icicle Jr. still carries a grudge against Miss Martian after she deceived him in "Terrors".

Wonder Girl is too young for Nightwing in this series. She's a recent addition to the team which is why she's so inexperienced. Her powers actually come from her equipment which was gifted to her by the Greek Gods, if I recall correctly.

In the Longshadow home, a shotgun above the door disappears and reappears between shots. At the beginning of the mission briefing on the Bio-Ship, Wonder Girl activates her stealth-tech, changing the gold stripes on her shirt silver. For the rest of the briefing, the stripes are gold again. During his briefing, Nightwing shows a map of Bialya. It has the combined shapes of Bialya and Qurac, with a flag in the center. However, this has been acknowledged as inaccurate; Qurac is still a separate nation. When Alpha first gather at the rendezvous point, Bumblebee's gloves are missing. When Mammoth placed Batgirl inside a containment pod, there were two abductees on either side of her, for a total of five pods. When Devastation picked up Batgirl's pod a moment later, an extra pod with an abductee is to her left. In the next shot which showed Bumblebee emerging from her hiding place, yet another pod with an abductee appeared to the far right. When Jaime picks the lock on the shed, the armor around his wrist and the back of his hand is black. At Shelly and Holling Longshadow's homes, that part of his armor was blue.

This is the first episode in the series in which Superboy does not appear at all. Tye Longshadow's physical appearance and ethnic background allude to Apache Chief, a character in Super Friends, while his surname alludes to the Justice League Unlimited character Long Shadow, who was based on Apache Chief. Long Shadow was voiced by Gregg Rainwater, who also voices Tye. The five villains working together in this episode (Psimon, Shimmer, Mammoth, Icicle Jr, and Devastation) allude to the Fearsome Five, a group of Titans villains that had a rotating list of members through the years. Psimon, Shimmer, and Mammoth have been part of that group in many of its incarnations. This episode is featured on Young Justice: Invasion - Destiny Calling: Season 2 Part 1.

You are soon to see new versions of the super friends such ass Tye long shadow who is based on Apache Chief who is a Native American superhero from the various Hanna-Barbera Super Friends cartoons and the DC comic book series of the same name. He was one of the new heroes added (along with Black Vulcan, Rima the Jungle Girl, El Dorado and Samurai) to increase the number of non-white characters in the Super Friends' ranks. In the justice league Like the other members of the Ultimen, Long Shadow was based on an original character from the Super Friends show. In that respect, Long Shadow was an update of the Native American superhero Apache Chief. The character of Apache Chief was meant to add racial diversity to the team, but is ironically regarded as a racial stereotype today. Unlike his Super Friends counterpart, Long Shadow required no phrases to activate his powers (Apache Chief would shout the magic phrase "Eh-neeek-chock" to activate his power and grow to fifty feet tall).

@@senhowler Likely because his original powers were TOO similar to Wonder Woman Villain Giganta (Turning Giant) so this differs the two (in the off chance they decide to use Giganta later down the road. (Fingers crossed we get some Wondey Villains/Villainess mixed in S5...and maybe Longshadow comes back unless he was killed offscreen and I didn't notice! Would have been a waste changing his powers from Giganta just for her to show up later and he's dead, making the change moot)

But since Marvel is more seen, mainstream and popular, with the casual crowd then DC (Referring to "not advertised heavily" characters! OF COURSE normies know who Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman are! Similar to Spider-Man! Hell Captain America, Hulk and Iron Man who use to be obscure somewhat have become knowable do to the movies and recent cartoons popularizing them. Obscure characters like say Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Star Lord and the Guardians of the Galaxy BEFORE Movie Vol. 1, are going to invoke "WHO?"), Of course those going into DC SECOND will see the similarity to Wasp/Janet-Hope and call Plagiarism (It's SCARY how similar Old Bumblebee is to Wasp and vice verse! But to tell to the uninitiated it's nothing new that DC and Marvel have created characters SIMILAR to characters from the other company! I mean Marvel's Hercules even has a "Wonder Woman" look a like as a villain and weaker version of DC Wonder Woman in the same vein DC Hercules is a weaken evil version of Marvel's Herc! Still remember the crossover where Herc wasn't happy when Wondey told him what her version of him did to her mother! Seeing as he's close to his version of Hippolyta and to know what a vile version of himself did to a version of her, I think I remember he would have killed that version if they had ever encounter each other during that crossover! Marvel has their own version of Superman in Hyperion and Shazam in Sentry! Hell I think DC created their own version of Doom! Even though Lex Luthor might as well be Dr Doom sans Magic in Spirit. However a plus is they are different enough that while similar, their more spiritual creations then outright plagiarism.....to bad Marvel had to steal Shazam's name from him just to give it to Carol and then ruin Carol's character so badly that the whole shit show over the name ended up being meaningless! Bummer!)
