You have to follow the law. A lot of municipalities have ordinances against too many unmarried and unrelated people living together unless there is some kind of license. Some municipalities require a rooming house license. Also insurance rates for HMO (house of multiple occupation) is expensive, if you can even find an insurer in your local area.

You can purchase or lease a home to start your transitional home. You need to know how many you would like to house and what type of transitional home you would like to open. Finding clients depends on your population you want to serve. My unlicensed group homes, I serve independent people who are over the age of 50 so I am able to go to hospitals to market. Yes, our business model we call unlicensed group homes which is just affordable shared living for low income senior and veterans. No staff no services are provided and they share a room. They are legal in all 50 states.

Hello Sherry, just curious to see what's disgusting about housing people who cannot afford to live on their own due to finances, health issues or even coming from an abusive environment. Before making unnecessary and rude comments, please let's have a conversation so you can see how our business model actually help people. Most homes are very family oriented and the clients are grateful for a clean safe and secure environment. So I can go on and on about how a proper unlicensed group home aka affordable living is very beneficial and helping people live a comfortable and thriving life but judging from your angry cooments there is probably no convincing you. Hopefully you will always be able to take care of yourself and not be in need of housing like this. But I thank God that there are good providers out there that want to help their community.
