Hello there lovely people 🤗 How are you all? It’s a quiet lazy Sunday here... 🍂 Did you see the glimpse of the fairy in the first half of the video!! 🧚♀️ 🧚♂️

Hello Niamh! This was a lovely video. This past year has been my first real attempt at simplifying my life. I've realized that it is more than just cleaning and giving things away, but it is truly a mindset as well. Some days are easier than others in the struggle between feeling like I "need" the modernity of things/trends/etc and living simply; but the more I practice "slow", the happier I am. I have definitely noticed the beauty of nature in so many ways that I hadn't before. When your mind isn't crowded with 'all the things' you can focus and realize just how amazing creation is. I finally bought a copy of your book. :) Blessings to you!!

@@dianechaniewski293 ah thanks Diane!! It’s so true what you say. I find that too. The modern convenient world can entice but the more the internal attitude changes so does the power of the external world.

I’m a true fan and follower... in the beginning I was watching your videos and felt envy.. isn’t that strange.? I was adoring your way of live but I was also jealous 😞 and I started thinking about it. I broke down in a very heavy burnout and depression and I discovered I was so jealous because that’s what I was missing so much in my own life... I was the old you... kind of. Now I’m 3 months further in my journey and have quit my job and taking time to heal. Thank you so much for the valuable videos and lessons. I am trying to simplify and live by the idea of; I don’t have to impress anyone. Just me myself and I. And a simple life...❤️ thank you and have a wonderful Sunday ☀️😘

It’s so true that when you simplify your life, you have tranquillity and so much less drama in life. I learned that as long as you’re a good person, it doesn’t matter if others don’t like you, perhaps they weren’t meant to be there in the first place. I find that you learn to relax, clear your mind and you find the joy of the spirit within you.

As I watched this lovely video this morning ( which I always look forward to) I had a little revelation that many of the things you spoke about happen to some people as we get old. I am finding that quite a few things that used to bother me a great deal such as the approval of others and the need to BUY THINGS just because it is trendy have taken a back seat to the need to discover what is truly important in life and what brings ME joy and peace. It has taken me a lifetime to discover these things. Watching your videos keeps me inspired , they lift my mood and help me to see that even though I am getting older I still have a lot to learn about living more simply. I wish I had started earlier in my life because as I look back I realize how much time, energy and soul I have lost to fruitless pursuits and meaningless desires and feelings that I was never good enough. Thank you for all your magical videos.!

I have also found a renewed desire to savor all that I have. And to lovingly re-gift what I don’t need any longer-either to a friend or to our thrift stores. And if I need something I first visit the thrift stores. Or I ask around to see if anyone has what I need. It’s surprising how much you can find in other people’s stuff. And you can trade homemade oatmeal cookies for an amazing amount of things🤣💕

Got my new puppy home today; she is sleeping by me on the couch. All the major things I needed for her were given to me by friends. Two dog crates, one small for her now and one medium for when she is fully grown, free standing dog bed and two crate beds. I am so grateful and pleased that these items will not end up on the scape heap. I too happily donate unwanted items and get a thrill knowing they will be of use again to someone. What goes around seems to come around 🙏

I really enjoy your videos ♥️♥️ the simple life is what I'm striving for at this time in my life. I'm so tired of living the city life. But I'm stuck for now, I live with a partner who loves the go at all times lifestyle, you would think the older you get the more of wanting the youth lifestyle would slow down a bit. But he is full force. I laugh because what my life needs is what I grew up with is back to the simplicity Iife I knew as a child. Eventually hopefully he will see the bread crumbs I'll leave when the time is right to get back to simplicity if not I'm very well ok with it. When you were using a pitchfork to reach the apples, you brought back a memory I had with my mother back in Florida when we couldn't reach the oranges off the tree we would use a long branch and cut into a fork like tool and pull the oranges off the tree as you were doing. Great memories ♥️♥️

Thanks Niamh, so peaceful and inspiring. 💗 I love my simple life, home grown or foraged fruit, herbs and veg used to cook from scratch and make all our own jams, wines and crumbles! We also make all our own bread, cakes, biscuits and muesli from flour/oats milled locally and we are blessed to be able to buy milk in glass bottles and plastic free pantry from a local farm shop (50mins drive but thankfully they deliver to us on their way home to the village over the moor from us!). We are about 40mins from our nearest supermarket, so for those inevitable things that aren't available plastic free / zero waste / bulk / local, we do go about once a month (or even less often if we can eek it out as we hate crowds!) Our 11yo daughter loves it here, to be able to walk out and not even bother to lock your door...straight out onto wild moors where you may only meet sheep and pheasants! And yet with the remote comes the wonderful sense of community we have with our neighbours....we need each other when it snows and that friendship lasts all year without living in each others pockets....and socially....we have a pop up cinema and any excuse to get together for a coffee, soup & sweet meals, craft....you name it we'll invent it for a chat and a laugh. I think the folk living here are mainly introverts and so this remote life suits us all, lockdown doesn't really affect us as that is how we choose to live our lives.....with the odd social thing to recharge the human contact bit of us....but not too much! 🤣☺ Bless you xx

I love watching your videos with this type of content because they make me feel so relaxed. Sometimes I wish I could live this way, but to be completely honest it just isn't 100% possible when you have children. Sure I could wake up before my children do and utilize the times when they are sleeping, but it isn't the same when I need time to unwind first or know that I only have an hour to be "zen" haha. Don't get me wrong - I am grateful that I have a family, but slow living just can't be achieved while the children are young. I have a daughter that is about to turn 3 and another girl due in less than 3 months! ♥ I am very happy for you and your man that you are using this time in your lives to truly work on being observant, appreciative and taking care of yourselves and the planet. :) Sending love from Canada.

Ah,another inspiring video. My partner and I live in the countryside, we buy our fresh food from a local shop who gets his produce from our local farmers. We have been doing this for a while and didn't think much of it. Usually we have some sort of stew at the weekend during the colder months, cook once and eat for a few days. I love warming winter food, add barley and lentils, Mmmm. I visited my daughter this week who gave me a stew pack she'd bought from a big supermarket and hadn't used. Yesterday the stew was cooked and we both felt that something was different to normal. Nothing huge, we couldnt put our finger on it.. Later in the evening we realised.. carrots. We had used the carrots my daughter had given to us instead of our usual local ones, and do you know it completely changed the flavour. It just goes to show that miles make a difference to the flavour. Such a simple thing but it really did bring home a message that we will both carry forward. No more supermarket vegetables for us if we can buy local. Have a blessed week everyone in these trying times. Thankyou as ever Niamh, I love sundays and spending a few minutes with you xXx

I was amazed when I grew my first carrots and cabbage how different they tasted to the ones from the supermarket. I suppose they are much fresher from the allotment and I don't use pesticides or herbicides and I use natural fertiliser so perhaps that makes a difference.
@hippimummy4 жыл бұрын
@@nadiagoddard227 We were trying to work out what was different as the ingredients were exactly the same. It was a couple of hours later when the lightbulb went on and we realised that the only difference was the carrots. If ever I needed proof that eating locally was the way to go then this was it. It may cost a few pennies more but it's definitely worth it. Also, the veg lasts longer and stays fresher and more tasty. My partner grew up on a farm and he swears that keeping some soil on them keeps them fresh for longer xXx

Good luck over the next few weeks. I have to keep focusing on what I can do rather than what I can’t. ❤️

I have slowed down since the pandemic. At first, it was hard. Now, I find myself enjoying it more and more. Living simply. I love it.?

I am so happy for you at such a young age you have found simplicity. At 60 I am am now returning to it. It is so calming to be simple. Our log cabin in the woods, our garden, our lake, the moss covered rocks during my walks all call to me to live more simply. Blessings be to you and thank you for a lovely video.

I so love the calmness of your videos. Those are some wise words. I just might have to write some of them down. And I did see your little fairy friend. I have three jobs that keep me non stop except this weekend, I've slowed down. It's nice. I look forward to your videos, sometimes that's my calmness for the week.

It’s mind expanding to think of ways to repurpose. I was going to buy a picture for over my couch but just moved pictures around. Now there is a sense of accomplishment and pride. Saved$$$ I love to decorate with things from nature. Cedar boughs, leaves and branches connect me to Mother Nature

Hello, I have started to observing others in a simple way. I think this change can bring simplicity in my life. Before that I used to think people’s action in my way, now I'm trying to put my self in their shoes also..and It's helping to simplify my observation process. My question is for you that "Do you observe people? If you do, what is your process for it?" Thank you so much & I love your ideas 😊

You’re videos have become a must in my life. They are a constant reminder that I have to slow down and appreciate the simple stuff in life. Being busy with technical school, work, family, and life, I need those days for myself. When I graduate which is in 9 months, I’m going to move out in the country. I’m tired of the city.

I, too, love the challenge of being resourceful. Buying new stuff is easy... but there is no reward or feeling of satisfaction in purchasing stuff. I feel proud when I make or repair something from items that I already have. I recently made two really cool soap dishes from some wood and small tins that I new would come in handy for something. I love that feeling! Thanks for this video Niamh... lovely as always. PS - love the pockets bulging with apples on your trip home from the apple harvest 🍎🍁🍎

You live in a fairyland, for sure, and I envy anyone who can! My life is a prison because of health issues, and until I can become more independent(IF) I resort to living vicariously through people like you. 🧚♀️ 🌺 🌲❤️

During the Covid shut-down, working from home and just slowing down generally, I am cooking much more than I used to, mending items, making do with what i have at home rather than going out and buying something I think I need, and I am coming to the place of appreciating with what I have and how I can use it. Being in enough is calming and it allows creativity.

That crumble looks amazing. I so love your videos. I love how simple living fosters a desire for ritual. If I'm slowed down living less complicated, a cup of tea is enjoyed on a tray with my teapot, creamer, and favorite cup and saucer, not just in a mug as I rush through my day. Also, I fully enjoy what the season has to offer as well as canning fruit for the winter months. This year my pantry is full of food I have canned through the early fall months. Apple pie filling, pickled onions, and beets. Plum butter, jam, and fruit brandies. Slowing down also lets me see and appreciate the lovely cottage I live in. Lighting candles and listen to music. Every Sunday night we have a Sunday dinner together that we all sit around the table to enjoy. I look forward to it every week and plan our favorite foods. But mostly I enjoy the ritual of sitting down together before the start of a new week to reflect on the week ahead and be grateful for the week that has been. Keep filming your videos you are a true inspiration and make me calm and inspired every week.

I am on my way to a simple living, because a calm mind brings me much less pain of my rheumatism. I am a working woman and stress gives me so much more pain. I love, love, love your way of life and you are my great motivation and Inspiration. God bless you!

just watched my first of your videos.. how soothing and calming your voice is.. a chance to see such a beautiful garden, rain and all the wonders of nature. Absolutely love your bright dress for a dull day idea. Here in Calgary Canada our Fall has blessed us with some wonderful bright warn sunny days, my escape is to sit on the deck and listen to all the sounds or nature around me while soaking in the warmth. .

I can't wait to move in with my boyfriend and create a little apartment cottage ourselves. We are more people who loves to enjoy things and have a more slow tempo, in my parents house, I feel that I can't be me. My mum is a very productive person, and when I don't do things, she always say that I'm wasting time. The energy of my parents house is as well very hectic.

I want to thank you from my heart..I live in the U.S. and my anxiety is so extremely high. The virus, the racial injustice, but most of all the election. No matter who wins, there will be even a larger unrest..I turn to you daily, even if it is a video I've already seen to calm my nerves..I take deep breaths, stretch often, light candles, and wear my late grandmother's fragrance. I often feel on the edge of a breakdown, but you bring me comfort. I want to stay at our house in the country to calm myself, but the small town are Trump supporters, so I cannot find refuge there either. As a muslum convert, my headscarf draws alot of hate and intimidation, more so because so much hate has come out of the woodwork due to our current leadership. You are a very special person with an amazing, calming gift
