I've been transitioning away from summer camping...late winter, spring and fall are so much nicer. Never too hot, never too crowded, never hard to find a site. We did February trips the past 2 years and loved them both. I think late March and September/October are my favorite months.

You might want to consider the ARB awning which converts into a screen room or enclosed room. You would be able to put your Mr. heater buddy inside, and also your Porta potty. It would be a nice, warm, dry place during cold and rainy days like this. Also you might wanna wear a pair of ski bib overalls. They really keep you warm.

Hi John, those are very good suggestions, thank you. We have been meaning to get something like that, but haven't done it yet. It would likely make our camping more comfortable. Thanks again! 🙂

Love the video. My Bend tear drop should be ready the end of March and we can start exploring. Beautiful scenery in Central Oregon. Really looking forward to tear drop camping and learning what I need and what I don't need after coming from a Class A rv.

Kevin, we hope you'll love your new teardrop. We love ours! It's so much easier. March is almost here! We're looking forward to hearing how it goes. As always, let us know if you have any questions.

Nice job guys… we’re packing up our teardrop for the 3day weekend. Unfortunately the camping in California central coast is busy all year long. Temperature should be low in the 30s high in the 70s, but I am never hesitant to spend money at the local firewood shop. It’s helping their local economy. Your set up looks a lot like ours. Changing tent, shade cover, warm food and good times :-)
@HighwaytoHoeftland2 жыл бұрын
Hi David, that sounds like fun! The CA Coast is still calling our names. We hope to go out there sometime in the spring. Good point about the firewood! 👍🤗

@@HighwaytoHoeftland one of our favorite spots is Standish Hickey state park and campground in Leggett Ca. It’s still in the mountains on the eel river, but close enough to the coast for a great jump off point

Thanks, John! Yes, It seems like we're the only campers who drink instant coffee these days. It works for us! How about you? ☕️🙂

@@HighwaytoHoeftland I am interested in finding a good instant. I bought some Julie granola when I saw Mike eat it. It is delicious. So, I am curious what you are using for instant coffee? If you like it, then I am sure it's great.
@HighwaytoHoeftland2 жыл бұрын
@JohnBerger, we're glad you liked the granola! We use two different instant coffees. One is Mount Hagen organic fair-trade instant coffee. If we don't have that on hand, we just use good old Folgers. Enjoy!

Do you guys get a lot of condensation inside your teardrop? I have learned we have to keep windows cracked for ventilation. I have a propax heater, but still learning.
@HighwaytoHoeftland2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, we do get some condensation, usually if we keep all the windows and doors closed up, like you said. It's a tricky balance because at night, when it gets super cold outside, we like to close everything up for more warmth, but that causes condensation. The fantastic fan is really helpful for keeping the trailer dry. We're still learning too. How do you like the propex heater?

There is something about that gas station firewood...i think it is the fact that it is kiln dried so you can transport it but I think it burns funny.
@HighwaytoHoeftland2 жыл бұрын
Oh, interesting. We haven't had any issues yet with the firewood we got at 7/11 or the store. We'll pay attention to that more closely next time. Thanks for your tip. 👍

@@HighwaytoHoeftland Maybe its just me being spoiled...I live and camp northern Vancouver Island and we are blessed with an extensive network of logging roads and logging debris (slash) laying about almost everywhere. Real wood with little to no effort and zero cost.
