Benelli 828U Shim System: Adjusting Drop and Cast

If your shotgun is not impacting the target where it is supposed to, it probably means that it does not fit you properly. Prior to the advent of Benelli's shim system, the process of drop and cast adjustment was time consuming and expensive. Now, with the shims provided with your Benelli shotgun, fine-tuning drop and cast can be done quickly and easily with only a few tools. Proper fit will ensure that your shotgun acts as an extension of your body making shots more instinctual. This video shows the correct procedure for patterning a shotgun for point of aim and adjusting the shims on your Benelli shotgun.

I don’t fully understand what happens here. Are the shims designed to alien the shooters eye right down the rib? Or do the shims correct the guns POI/POA?

Good video. I now feel more confident to adjust the shims on my Benelli Ethos. What were the first shot shim arrangements for each of the two shooters? What choke(s) were being used? Thanks!

Great videos my question is I have a Benelli super sport semi automatic that I shot out of the box good for a beginner and then I bought a Benelli over and under 828u sport and is it possible that the rib on the over and under is higher because I can not hit clays like I can with the semi and I am not sure what to try any suggestions?

my 828u sport came with the shims but Did not come with a 13mm hex wrench to take the nut out. so gotta buy that.

I would like to ask a technical question since you deal with shotguns daily I can’t find enough videos on. I was searching for best 20ga and 28ga shotguns and I came across Ethos so I said ok it looks great even though it’s expensive. But now I see your video shooting Black eagle rifle and I like that one as well. What is your recommendation between the two rifles? For all around shooting hunting Mainly? And will it be 26” or 28” I am spending the money I might as well spend it right so if you could give me some information I would appreciate it.

With due respect, you stood and watched the lady drop her head onto the stock after mounting, the whole idea of gun fitting is to stop this surely ? Her drop was way to big
