I own this bike for about half a year now, bought it randomly because I got a good deal, almost brand new with accessories for under 5k USD from a bloke who got it as a first bike but got intimated from its size after dropping it stand still on a red light few times . It is very comfortable at lower speeds, I can ride for hours without getting off, when riding on slow roads, and it does well at bad condition roads, but it definitely lacks power for its size and it is heavy when in halt, I am well build 180cm and you have to be careful when you stop on uneven terrain. With a pillion the lack of power is very noticeable, the bike becomes pretty vibey and loud, so the pillion I rode with said it was rather unpleasant above 100 km/h. The ride is tiring when you have to crunch highway miles, just too loud and vibey if you want to keep up with traffic + fuel consumption suffers a lot. The speedometer is also very off, and becomes more inaccurate with higher speeds - It shows 120km/h when you are actually doing bellow 110 km/h. I had a faulty MAP sensor at 8k km, build quality is a bit questionable for me, especially electronics. In retrospect I don’t know what I was thinking when buying it, the combination of the thicc body with the little engine is like a joke, and who was the target audience for this bike? As no experienced rider will even look at it, and its size and weight is pretty intimidating for new riders. Looking to trade it for something older but around 80hp.
@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
This is great real world experience dude. Thanks for sharing! It’s not only heavy, but way too top heavy for its intended purpose. Overweight + underpowered = sub-par motorcycle.

Reviews are always subjective, I get that ... just a couple of thoughts from me as I have had way too many bikes and mostly plus 1000cc machines including 3 ZZR1400's (lovely) and then I downsized on power and got an XT660z Tenere (awesome but uncomfy on long Euro trips) and now I have a Benelli TRK520x .... much comfier, like how it looks and it still feels a big bike which I like ... now the power ... I honestly don't hanker after the arm wrenching power of hyper bikes, its pointless in the UK! .... the place is camera'd up to hilt, the roads are potholed, everywhere is busy, insurance crazy, fuel consuption awful. The Benelli will whip you up to motoway speeds quick enough, sit there all day no problem, mpg is great, cheap on insurance and is just a bit different to yawwwwwn some well known makes. You have to compare it to middle weight bikes and not middleweight pocket rockets that will have you at a Osteopath in about an hour ... its a very good and very cost effective middelweight tourer.

Hey Onenoodles, thanks for sharing your experience! I always love hearing from individuals who have owned a wide assortment of motorcycles and can provide some legitimate feedback - especially when they own the bike in question! As I mentioned in the video, I don't actually think this bike is a terrible motorcycle. It just doesn't really do any one thing particularly well, and that's okay. It does most things you could ask out of a 500CC motorcycle, and it does them well enough that it can get you by. As you mentioned, if you're spoiled by power, you'll probably be a little underwhelmed by this one, but it is absolutely not made to be a powerhouse speed demon. It's made to be a basic adventure motorcycle with a price-friendly cost in mind, and I think it checks off those boxes with ease. Thanks again for sharing. Ride safe! Cheers.

How long have you had it? How is the quality /durability? Is it good for long trips?
@onenoodles Жыл бұрын
@@wmmseo Hi, I have only had it around 4 months, however I have ridden it on a few 200+ mile plus days and its been very comfy, really planted on the motorway, held road legal speeds easily and the engine is a peach. Everything seems to work and the only thing that I have had to do is re - tighten the centre stand bolts as they were loose (common I believe but lock-tight sorted it) and upgraded the rear pads as the ones in were poor. I am booked on the Santander ferry in June and intend doing 25000 TO 3000 mile trip and I think it will be just fine.

@@onenoodles Sounds like a nice bike. I moved to the Philippines about a year ago and I just saw one of those a few blocks from where I live. It looks really cool to me so with your recommendation, I'm going to test ride one.

@@wmmseo Sounds like a lovely place to live mate ... I think it all depends on what you intend to do? if its general riding with the odd light trail, forest track and gravel then its a great 'bang for buck' bike ... if you like to get right off the beaten track and adventure properly then there are better and lighter bikes out there for that ... enjoy the test ride and let us know what you think?

I own the non x trk 502, much better road ride, it's 213kg for the non x, a lot lower and not so top heavy as exhaust is under slung. Has a smaller rear sprocket for better top end, alloy wheels so tubeless. It just felt A LOT easier to ride than the x and I'm 6 foot. I think the power is absolutely fine for me in the uk, more than enough actually and more comfortable than my old versys 650 or himalayan (monkey butt on the versys and ball crush on the himalayan) i get neither on the trk.

How it compares to Aprilia Pegaso 660 Trail or BMW G650GS?
@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with those two motorcycles, but there's a really, REALLY, good chance they are better than the TRK in terms of fit, finish, power, features, handling. The only thing the TRK might lead in is pricing. Had someone come in for a test ride on this TRK502X the other day and they couldn't stop talking about how overweight it felt.

The benefit with 47hp is it can be ridden on a uk/euro a2 license without having to be restricted

@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
I never owned it, just borrowed it from the dealership I worked at. If the 702 is balanced the same as the 502, you should go for the Versys 650. If the 702 is balanced better than the 502, the the 702 is something worth considering.
@rabfergy71552 жыл бұрын
I really like the looks and level of equipment. Also I've watched adventure bike tours and road tour and you never average any high speeds so this bike will be ample for touring loaded up. However if you really want more power 2023 will have the all new trk 702 and 800.
@Omni_Moto2 жыл бұрын
Hey Rab, thanks for watching! This version of the bike is just that - good enough to pull you along with gear! The 702 I think will be the preferred machine for many riders out there based on weight/power/specs and, of course, price. Ride safe!

RevZilla Gift Card 3 things I want to change on 502X before I even try to consider it. 1.) The Swing Arm - Must be Aluminum 2.) Brakes - Should be fitted with much more premium brakes (Brembo is💖) 3.) Dash - Should come with TFT Conclusion: I'll go with MV Agusta's Lucky Explorer 5.5. Man, that LXP5.5 has the same weight with 502 but is more punchier and has more premium specs.
@Omni_Moto2 жыл бұрын
You’ve been entered! Those changes would all be very welcome, but for me the first thing to change has gotta be the engine! 😂 That MV Lucky 5.5 looks great though, hadn’t seen that before. The rear rack, blinkers, exhaust, windscreen, chassis, and other items on that bike look eerily similar to the TRK though upon close inspection. I do however see the Brembo breaks and the TFT the TRK doesn’t have. I’d be interested in getting up close to one of those MVs one day to check it out.
@ABetterYou19932 жыл бұрын
@@Omni_Moto Yes you are right, 502X's engine should be buffed also. Well, QJ motor (Also the maker of 502X) will be responsible for making the LXP5.5 so don't be surprised if they share components with haha. But Atleast LXP has a good DNA.😂 It will be out soon 🤞
