I hate this discussion about performance on this type of bike! Ppl if you want performance GET A SPORTS BIKE ! This type of bike is to enjoy the jorney and the scenary NOT to set speed records.

Correctly said . Touring is all about looking around and enjoying the surrounding and visiting places. Not hitting 200kpm.

but you can't argue that this bike considered underpowered compared to other same bike right ... about the weight and power it is slow and heavy... but i believe power is not going to slow you down with having fun with it .

Performance is relevant compared to weight. I have no problem with low power engines, but the motorcycle needs to be correspondingly lighter. This bike is way too underpowered for the weight. It’s weight is similar to my 1290R, which has 160hp...if people only want 50hp that’s fine, but the wet weight needs to be 185kg
@s7evenTV
@s7evenTV 5 жыл бұрын
The thing that worries me about the low power is the fact that i don't wanna go up hills and needing to redline the bike just to go up, dnt really care about hitting 200km 😂

Hail to the mid-sized “all rounder” motorcycle. Hopefully, as we wake up from BIBI (bigger is better illusion) the mid-sized bikes will become more sophisticated. And yep, more expensive. I can certainly understand why manufacturers are reluctant but, there’s a market that is willing to pay for top quality fully farkled mid-sized bikes. My ideal bike? A 500cc V4 equipped with variable valve timing, Brembo, Olin’s, light trellis frame, and high quality electronics and controls. And, while I’m dreaming, make sales advance order only so customers can buy the “accessories” they want at the point of purchase (tires, exhaust, leavers, foot pegs, panniers, etc) so we don’t have to pay for, then toss, the crap show floor bikes come bundled with. I’ve been riding long and hard for 50 years, but I suspect the death of internal combustion engines will occur before the dream of high quality mid-sized bikes is realized. I’d love to read the opinion of others on this line of reasoning . . .

I too would love a capable 500cc machine that is light, powerfull (50-55HP), good looking and good sounding. Something that has 2-4 cylinders and can cruise at 120 smoothly without any vibrations or stress. With goodies like up and down quickshifter, traction control for different terrains, height adjustable windscreen, comfortable seat, maybe heated grips etc... But not gonna happen. All those are reserved for 1000/1250cc gas guzzling monsters that weight 250+KG...ha ha. The new KTM adv 390 came close but the bike lacks that big bike feel when you are on the saddle (pro-only weighs 165-KG or something) and it's single cylinder...

Good review. Not under powered. Just over weight. Certainly enough power for on or off road. And the weight may be fully planted on road. But for off road, that weight is a killer. Trying to stop that elephant on wet or soft terrain will not be fun. And high COG makes it even worse. Making front end washouts always a threat. So this is much more a road bike, than an off road bike. And that goes along perfectly with their choice of tires. Road 90%...off road 10%.

Hello Mate!! Very nice detailed video, its going to be here in India by Feb 2019, I am really confused, Whether to go for Suzuki vstrom 650xt or Trk 502X, i know in papers the suzuki is way bigger and better, but still will the TRk do a decent job in touring for about 700+ miles a day and even mild offroads.? Awaiting for your response

The Suzuki is in fact much smaller, especially when it comes to weight as it is around 20 kilograms lighter. The V-Strom has a great reputation for reliability and has been around and refined for 15 years. So whats to think about?

235kg kerb weight + 500cc motor. Hmmm... when will Benelli QJ release the **REAL** one with the new 754cc engine? I used to own their TNT600 which I liked because even though it was lardy for what it was, at least it had sufficient power. Best thing about it was that Benelli parts were super cheap where I live, so I rode it to work every day for 5 years - it held up with minimal fuss despite me not pampering it like a weekend bike! So I have faith in this brand. Sure... people argue others should not whinge about forcing a 47hp motor to haul 235kg of Multistrada-style lard around, but still, given a choice between this and having the new 82hp + 67Nm motor there's absolutely no question which one they'll choose! LOL.

Specs from benelli site says 145mm front suspension travel. Why are they doing that? Why is it so hard to make mid-weight adventure bike with 60hp, 170+ suspension travel, under 200kg and seat height less than 0.9 meter? Everything is have to be either weak, low, heavy or made for giants. With KLR going away there's literally no middle weight adventure bikes on the market anymore and no, having 2cm of suspension travel over regular road models doesn't make an adventure bike, looking at you Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda and now Benelli. At least Yamaha is trying with Tenere 700.
