Discipline - focus on my legato plus incorporating arpeggios into my improv; not just sweeps. Also picking exercises of not just 3 note per string patterns. Truth - play create more what I want. I recently left a gig where I felt stifled. Aforethought of the type of music I enjoy. Not just playing covers. A more fusion/jazz/rock....which means no ZZ Top or Skynard covers. More improv oriented music. Thanks, Ben. Your practice series interests me. I have the etudes, but those are Ben licks. I need ground level stuff, then I can use my own.......thats the plan.

Great video Ben! I really like the idea of keeping a physical diary; I’ve been using my phone for this for a while now, but watching your video has made me think - I need to get a paper diary. I think there is something important about writing things down with a pen and paper, so I'm off to buy a diary. Thanks man.

The guitar is a swine....you can sit and learn theoretical knowledge but the physical aspect of it is a challenge. Despite years of practice there's so much I can't do that others can.
