Well done, that little bit of air in the tube makes all the difference, I haven't pinched a tube since I learned that trick.

That’s great to hear! It does help a lot.

Not my favorite task. The powder helped a lot!

Liked your video! One thing you could add: When pressing that last bead on, it helps to press the side, opposite your working side, into the middle of the rim. This gives you a little more room to work with.

Thanks for the tip! Appreciate it.

I just pinched 📌 two tubes and have one ☝️ spare tube left to give it one more try! I did not use any baby powder and I did not add any air until the tire was back on the wheel 🛞 taking a break before I give it another try!

May the inner tube gods be with you. Slow and steady.

it'd help to keep the bead in the well as close to the working edge of your irons, small bites at the end, are easy if the bead is pushed into the well, something there's not enough room for both beads at the same time, the first bead doesn't have to be seated either.. you can see how much struggling you do without it having the slack possible that it can. with that bead holder also (which is basically not needed, even it if it's a 6 ply Trelleborg (not 3 sidewall and 3 tread wall = 6) i mean the brutal 6 ply all around in the old days especially those you have to keep the bead in the well.

If you can afford enough DW hardware to have an extra throne, you can afford a good tire machine 😎🥁

I wish I had the room!

What is the tool called that you used to pry the tire back to insert the inner tube valve? Do you have a link to one? TIA!
@KeepOnWrenching Жыл бұрын
It’s called a “tire tamer”

What about balancing and mounting? Next video? Enjoyed this, now I see why the tire guy charges so much. Subscribed a long time ago, liked the vid.

I just mounted a 130 90 16 tire today per your instructions so thank you for that. I might add that I have car / truck tire spoons but they worked great. One thing I did was to put Gorilla tape on the ends of the tire spoons (2 wraps) so as not to scratch my aluminum rim. It also helped that I have a cheap tire machine bolted to the floor from Harbor Freight to hold the wheel from jumping around. The talc in a bag worked great too. Hardest part was getting the valve stem up through the rim but I have catchers mitts for hands. Thanks again for a good video.

On my Metzeler Roadtec, the directional arrow was on the opposite side of the tire from the red dot. I don't know why, but that's where they put it.

I used the soapy water to slip the tube in easily. Is that good?
@KeepOnWrenching6 ай бұрын
Not sure I’d want moisture in the rim.

any tips on how to stop an L shaped valve stem (as they dont av a nut) from slipping. please

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an l~shaped valve. Sorry.

I have a 74 CL360 , my question is are Cb 360 and the cl360 the same motor because the cl360 has a worn cam journal and I have cb360 motor that I could take the upper from would that work?
@KeepOnWrenching3 жыл бұрын
You’d want to compare all part numbers. Not sure on the 360 stuff but 350 engines are basically the same from what I’ve seen. Always tricky swapping major engine pieces tho due to variances and wear.

What is that tool you used to lift the tube up and install the inner tube?

What is that tool that you are using to help insert the valve?
@KeepOnWrenching Жыл бұрын
Standard valve tool. Available at any bike shop or auto parts store.
@scottchristy6690 Жыл бұрын
Not that one. Then one that is the size of your tire spoons that you are using in the video to hold the tire up while you insert the valve into the wheel. Thanks!
