No way!! I made it into the video. I'm the boy in blue who crossed the line just right before the first lady. I started running around 1 year ago, taking your videos as an inspiration. And last week I made my debut in a HM with 1h14 + met Ben + made it into the video. Best day ever!! Ty so much ❤

@@YaBoiTom_ Thanks buddy! I think I'm not even aware of how impressive this is. My first run in January 2023 was a 3k after which I vomited. It's really been a journey, with obviously lots and lots of work, but certainly some degree of luck for which I'm extremely thankful. Eager to see what's next

@@presidente_carloscan you help me? i started running 11 month ago ,but my progress is stuck ,not even sub 20 for 5k ,so what can i do to increase my progress? should i added more easy runs? because my weekly program mostly doing speed workouts
@blitzenJunior10 ай бұрын
well done, you are fast as heck
@presidente_carlos10 ай бұрын
@@ilhamchan9251 Sure. I have had 4 goals through the year: sub 22:30 for the 5k, sub 40 for the 10k, sub 35 for the 10k and sub 1h15 for the half. My training for the first two blocks was 5-6 days a week as follow: M Easy Run (10-11k), T Treshold Run (4k WU + 4x2000 at HM pace or slower w 200m recovery jog + 2k CD), W Easy Run (10-11k), T rest (I would do some plyometric exercises here for 40mins), F Long Run Easy (18-23k), Saturday Gym (Heavy lifts) + Recovery Run (6-7k veery easy), Sunday Speed Work (4k WU + 6x250 + 6x200 + 6x100 (all out with 90-60-30s rest) + 2k CD. So as you see, lots of miles for someone my level at the time but little intensity, importance of strength exercises and completely avoided the grey area. Hope this helps!

Pretty incredible time Ben. Love seeing your family take on races too. Looks like Bath was quite a haul from where you live... Also pretty amazing how many sub 1.10 runners there were. Usually the races here only get a handful of them... But we are at higher altitude. As always love your dedication to the sport and you make running fast look effortless. Keep it up.

Do you have any tips for longruns with intervalls or like faster splits in it? Do you recommend for example splitting the long run into 3, and have a easy, a «mid» tempo part and a half marathon/marathon-pace part?
