Ever since I moved to Oxford for my PhD from Spain, I've been wanting to have Ben around. I couldn't watch the half bc I was on my Sunday long run. After that, I went to college for lunch and I swear I saw Ben near Magdalen College. I convinced myself that I was dreaming, but immediately after I checked his Instagram and it was him. Can't believe I missed you buddy. I hope you had the best of times in Oxford. You're always welcome and the university team will love to host you for some run any time. Kudos on the race!

Congratulations on your run! I ran this and thought the event was a bit disappointing - long walk from the village to the start line, course was quite congested at times, it narrowed and became a rough terrain in the park at just the wrong time (with 3 or 4k to go when you want to kick) and the finish area was chaos with volume of people. What was your impression compared to other runs that you've done?

Yeah I do have to agree. I think it was well organised mind, especially with 13,000 runners in such a small road city centre. The route was a bit of a joke at the end 😂

The Peterborough half marathon this weekend did the same with lots of twists and turns in final mile and a bit. It was a new cathedral based route but maybe that meant it was more for scenic reasons than runner friendly reasons.

Yeah the Oxford half definitely fell victim to this too. They added maybe 4 corners and a dangerous cobbles section just to run around the cathedral 😂
