15:19 - those are probably roller hockey trophies, because SL Benfica has no ice hockey team. And the previous SL Benfica stadium had capacity for 120 000 people. Glad you enjoyed the visit.

@@franandmarts SL Benfica, like many clubs in Portugal, is multisports, it's involved in circa 30 sports, in both genders and several age levels, so the high number of trophies and titles.

Correction, the former Benfica stadium of light, could take up to 130.000 people, and was the biggest stadium ever detained by a club. Maracanã 200.000, now less, is a municipal stadium. Cheers, oh, and we call Stadium of light/luz, the Cathedral, since Benfica is not a club, but a religion

Welcome to our home. The old one had 120k, also seated but without chairs. Some games surpassed the 120k quite substatially though, hitting 130k/140k... It was something truly mystic. With chairs it still had more than 90k. It was the biggest stadium in Europe alongside Camp Nou at the time.

Hello from Nottingham, you visited my stadium. The oldest has a capacity for 120k all sitting but concrete, not chairs. Unfortunately, this one is a lot more pretty, but it doesn't allow the same capacity. With 47 years old, I had the privilege to watch matches in the old one, and this one now and the spirit is the same, but 120000 singing the name of Benfica is something I will never forget. That's trophy has been for years behind the stand, getting dust. It was a huge work from the museum staff of benfica to restore them and display has they are now. Thank you for sharing this .

Great video. Glad you enjoyed the tour and stadium. This club is massive. Been a supporter almost 50yrs. The old stadium was crazy. 120,000 people packed in. You didn’t recognize our king. Rei Eusebio.(statue outside) The best player every in the history of Benfica and portugal. Only Ronaldo can probably say he’s better as a national team player. But for me Eusebio is 1st 🎉

Thanks for the super comment, we learned about your most love son, Eusebio, as we toured around your impressive stadium. And how The Black Panther scored 727 goals for you. I can see why he is so loved. The old stadium must have been a crazy place on match day. Even with no fans in the stadium we could feel the passion, a passion we felt at other places in Portugal. We loved to visit and taste your country and we will be back, hopefully catch a game too.

In the old stadium, there were no seats but stepping stones where people would seat, so in it's full capacity it was capable of receiving 120.000 people, all seated. It was an unbelievable experience and the roar of the crowd cheering for Benfica was something out of this world, specially when all the people on the "terceiro anel" would stump their feet at the same time. It was the biggest stadium in Europe and the third in the World. What was even more amazing is that the first stadium was built by the associates and fans of Benfica themselves who contributed with man hours and materials, without any external financing at all.
