In a major mishap, a Goods train rammed into Kanchenjunga Express near Rangapani Station in West Bengal on June 17. The impact of the accident can be seen as the wagon of the Kanchenjunga Express train suspended in the air. The Rangapani station, the place where the incident happened, comes under the Siliguri subdivision in Darjeeling. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team rushed to the spot to initiate the rescue operations. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took stock of the situation and initiated action on a war footing.

These are the results of the job freeze in all government sectors including the railway. A heavily understaffed organisation struggles to provide a sufficient number of pilots. Tired men without sufficient rest are made to run the trains. The outcome is obvious. What else can be expected in a country where the political leaders and bureaucrats are given king like facilities while the taxpayers are there just to pay for their luxury.

These type of railway accidents are occuring since 2 June 2023 when there was a train accident in Balasore,Odisha. Railways should focus more on signals maintenance and track maintenance instead of rolling out new trains. This has become like daily an accident in a month . Already on 2 june 2024 a goods train derailed in punjab

Modi is bringing Vande Bharat trains but at what cost? Many local trains are terminated from their service. Railway infrastructure has not improved rather it's getting worse day by day. Probable Reasons: Many railway employees were hired during the past UPA rule when corruption was higher. Therefore, carelessness, disloyalty, reservation in hiring, etc. are expected from them and hence these accidents. The Railway minister immediately visited the accident site and has strictly instructed the officials to take stern action on the culprits. It was a serious fault on the state governement for years to not build enough infrastructure to evacuate the victims during emergency. It was state government's failure to not provide enough medical care to the victims. Central government released funds for the ex-gratia of the victims the moment the news was heard, but the state government is withholding it. Any other probable reasons I missed, please add. Thank you.

Indian Railway have no sufficient employees to work , no recruitment have made last 4 years ... and after the recent 2 train accident the govt doesnt event recruit employees ..... Rather than getting Bullet trains, IR and the Mr MODI and Mr. Ashwini should first implement anti collision system, driver fatigue detection and LHB coaches across all trains. maybe u are rich and not affected by this ..But we the middle class and lower middle class cannot afford flight tickets to travel ...we are depended only on train so we are concerned about it Modi and the railway misniter are accountable for this
