The mentor tags actually makes roster building so much more interesting now. Cutting players and signing depth players used to be so much easier and boring. Just sign/keep high rated young guys and get rid of all the veteran backups. But with mentors it actually give you an incentive to keep that veteran leadership to help your young guys of the future grow into eventual studs. You actually have to make some tough choices which I really like. Madden, and specifically Madden franchise, is far from a perfect game, but I still like to give credit where credits is due. The addition of mentor tags is actually pretty cool

Love how you managed to get Cane in the episode. I don't think you had a bad draft, people forget that depth is necessary. It's a bad pick till you have 1-2 injuries, then all of a sudden it's a good pick or you should've drafted more depth. Bailey is an amazing pick. 21 year old QB with the important ratings, only things that are "low" are athleticism, dev trait and deep accuracy, but Bengal absolutely needed a new QB or to sign a free agent. I know we like watching Bengal suffer but c'mon, another year of Tyrod Taylor or having him compete with a QB like Tyler Huntley or Jacoby Brissett wasn't gonna be fun to watch from a story perspective and not as fun to watch for gameplay. Sure Bailey doesn't have 85+ spd but he's more than serviceable in a game where most generated QBs either can't throw (via accuracy or thp) or don't have much mobility. The only "miss" was Bengal's misread on Brinkley (who I wanted him to draft), but that happens irl too. It would've been great for him to have the #40 CB on day 1, but he made his choice expecting 90 spd, not 92. Bailey was the better fit for the team, and given he got to trade down twice and still get him, it's a win for a team that lacked depth and quality players.
