Yo, Bengal, check out 'Fiend Franchise's video on scouting. It helped me a ton! Basically, your scout with 98 discovery should be T3 and you should be discovering constantly with him. From my understanding, Discovery is more of a standalone trait. You just want the cheapest 90+ Discovery scout on your T3/Bronze scouting assignment. Shame you fired him! Scout #1 should go after position players, one at a time. Scout should have 90+ Efficiency and POS Player ratings. Scout #2 should go after pitchers AS A GROUP -- not individually. Scout should have 90+ Efficiency and Pitcher ratings. This is a great way to start scouting!

Generally for scouting you should aim for the following: Scout 1: 90 + efficiency and 90 + either pitching or positional players. Scout individual positional prospects you are interested in throughout the season. Scout 2: 90 + efficiency and 90 + either pitching or positional players (obviously do the opposite of scout 1). Scout starting pitchers and rotate through the regions. Scout 3: 90 + discovery and then as high as you can fit within your budget. Send on discovery missions for the first 9-10 weeks and rotate through whatever you want. The last few weeks you can use this scout to round out any other prospects you're interested in

He can help with diff. techniques and crap like that. He also has a tip for discovering generational players (usually involves hitting visibility and discipline in scouting and the number from "actual" being 5 off from each other.
