Bengaluru building collapse: Karnataka Lokayukta chief shares details of incident

Karnataka Lokayukta chief BS Patil spoke on the tragic under construction building collapse and said, “A tragic incident happened yesterday. We lost 8 lives. 2 are still missing. It was an illegal building that was being constructed. BBMP officials did not make any attempt to cut off the power supply and did not file any complaint against the owner or contractor to stop the construction. We have done a preliminary inspection here. I have already registered a case, suo-moto case against the officers, including the secretary to the government. So they will be asked to respond. We will investigate the matter, conduct inquiries, give everyone a chance and then pass orders.”
