This plum cake trail is inspired by the thousands of responses I received to a recent tweet on Bengaluru’s most popular plum cakes. In part one of this tasting trail, I sample plum cakes at three Bengaluru institutions, Thoms, perhaps one of the most recommended, a 100-year-old Excelsior bakery that is still unknown to many, and a special matured cake at All Saints. I hope you enjoy this tour, stay tuned for part 2.

Japanese cake was made famous by Niligirs way back in 60s the bakery was in Brigade road nostalgic moments, Kripal sir knowledge in plum cakes and other items after tasting it the bakery owners must b baffled on the ingredients in these dishes 👍💯💯💯🌹🌹

Plums cakes, Richer the better. Wish I could get hold of the Rs.2,000/- per KG rich cake Kripal tasted at All saints. Meticulous, time consuming efforts make such cakes really rich cakes. Here in Manila I got hold of only one type of Rich Rum Plum cake which didn't disappoint me at all. Such cakes are so rare in this market filled with luxurious cream cakes.
