Every city has its distinctive chaat style, so does Bengaluru, including its very unique masala puri that is a hit with folks here. And a popular chaat destination is Karnataka Bhel House, which began as one of the earliest stores unlike food carts way back in 1975. Founded by Mr Prabhulinga Linga Dev who converted his provision store in Chamrajpet to a chaat shop on the advice of a friend who had just returned from plying the trade in Mumbai, KBH, as it is popularly known, may have branched out into spiffy operations across multiple outlets today. However, it is the consistency of the chaats here, we are told by its fans, thanks to the owning family’s focus on sourcing the best ingredients, for instance, the peas that go into the masala come from the US to ensure the same taste year-round, whilst all components and condiments that go into the chaat are produced in their central kitchen, that has made Karnataka Bhel House a popular chaat destination. Just for colour do we need to import green peas? Need to think about it as it increases the cost. If the thing we use can't be produced in India then definitely we can import if it is very much necessary only. Just to give the hype need not to import food items.

I have been having masala puri here from past 30 years. It's the same taste even today. One thing which I would like to bring to the notice of management that some employees are slightly arrogant. In the past the owners were supervising but now they do less. Though it might not impact the taste, but surely will impact their revenues.

Kudos to your efforts you explain very well keep the good work going on , only in this video of Karnataka Bhel house we see the owner of the restaurant says they import frozen green peas from US to maintain quality throughout the year but isn't it a disgrace to our farmers every one nowadays asks to eat locally sourced vegetables atleast these kind of restaurants should source locally for the local foods what if as a customer we start consuming all readymade imported food I think kripal must make it a point to encourage purchasing local farmers produce instead of getting it imported as of now I will stop visiting KBH as my protest
