I keep coming back to this video over the years... I really wish you would do WAY more videos of this extremely rare synth! Or just give it to me so I can do a bunch of videos! ;)

I bet you never bought his album
@Genshi2 жыл бұрын
@@annother3350 I actually own every single one of his albums and have also been following him for quite awhile now... what a stupidly odd comment from you, why would you think I never bought his album? As a fellow musician and composer, I buy a LOT of music... and yes, I realize track 3 of his Chimeror EP is the same as this video, but it's seeing the Buchla 700 in action that really cements this for me as it's one of the rare synths I've never had a chance to experience in person (being that there are only maybe 4 in existence that I know of.)

@@Genshi I was being cheeky for sure to encourage to buy the album as many would not, and its good to support the artist but there was also an amount of presumption in me that thought a whole album may satiate your appetitie for the Buchla. Many people want their music for free now

@@annother3350 Fair enough, sorry for calling you a troll. But yeah, that's always been a pet peeve of mine; people wanting music for free... as a lifelong musician with 23 releases on my own label (which people are no longer buying) it really makes me sad that people just take for granted the effort it takes to write and put out this music, so I always try to support fellow musicians when I can.

This is splendid. The fact is: it is digital and it seems harmonically complex - deeply -, and it is an instrument on its own, you can feel and play. Strangely, it is exactly what lacks in the actual synth panorama, in my opinion. Buchla would have to reissue the 700, possibly [moreover, they already have the common cable and wi-fi technology to allow connections to modern computers and iOS].

According to vse , the filters/amp tages are analog being digitally controlled

Lucky for us, some badass programmer that worked with Buchla has created a nice iOS version called ID700. I call it the DMT7000 for obvious reasons.

This isn't the only video of a 700 on KZbin, although it's probably the easiest to find.

They made 14, or 15, or something like… There’s maybe two or three still out there. If you want a recreation, the ID700 for Mac and iOS is damn’ good. And a lot cheaper obvs.

So, didju? Cuz I did, I preordered it the day before release after watching it being demo’d on TheSoundTestRoom. Bliss.

@@mikabreto I just did. Now to see if it’s as lovely as the sounds I hear in this video (and the sonic state ones with Alessandro Cortini).

Based on the Adagio presets, it will give Mononoke a run for its money in the drone stakes.

Possibly because not everyone cares about getting "likes" and/or showing random people on the internet their instruments.
