A lot of thought going into the lessons/videos, always something different to think about. Practising weaknesses is something we all forget. The slo/mo really gives us the chance to analyse the shot. Thank you for all the effort you put in, its much appreciated Ben.

Excellent idea of having people perform on the field. It is surely educational and although it is a blessing to the eye to see you shoot, :) for us average shooters the feedback we get is productive. Hope to see more videos soon.

Useful video, would love to see a Shotkam on Ben's gun just to give and idea of leads. When are you coming to Australia Ben? Haha!

I was thinking that myself, think it would really help to understand the different lead distances when changing from pull away to swing through. Thanks Ben another great vid.

Again very useful bits in this. Sound quality is better than previous video but still miss one or two comments made. Flash targets were big help to see, could actually relationship between hand speed and target. Keep it up, BENNO, LIKE THE STANDARD you're taking these lessons to. Johnny Wang.

Brilliant video! From 27:01 and on, the guy flics (or whatever its called) his fingers 17-18 times on the foreend before taking the shot. Is there a good reason why?

It’s great to hear about the different methods used for different targets, it’s something we talk about amongst our shooting mates on a weekly basis. I’ve watched quite a lot of your video’s now & as you mention, you don’t normally favour maintained lead. If you ever get chance it would be very interesting to see you demonstrate why not on the shot cam & why an alternative method is proffered. ML is still widely taught by instructors for beginners so it would be great to get a proper explanation. Cracking instruction & thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍

Hello again from Portugal Ben... I' ve been watching your vídeos over and over..., back and forth...🙂, and i in some occasions i've noticed that you, ( in some specific situations ), when you mount your gun, sometimes you pull the trigger without having the stock anchored in your cheek bone... You do it intentionally ? Or you lift your head up in order to see the clay more clearly ? Thank you for your constant concern and fantastic informations. Joaquim Borja

Watching a lesson from Ben exhibits perfectly how difficult clay shooting really is... when most people who are NOT in the sport think that you just move the gun around and pull the trigger.... I have seen so many people having "strong opinions" until they found themsleves in the peg with a shotgun in their hands....

Brother that was fantastic!!! I enjoyed every single second, and I definitely learned a lot. Especially the way that you did this one involving your students and explaining everything in such awesome depth/detail. There's a popular saying in the US, Those who CAN'T, TEACH. That's definitely NOT the case with Big Ben!!!! Thanks for sharing your time and sharing this lesson with us. So valuable. So thank you again and may God bless you!!!!

Great Lesson, and your comment to use your PC instead of a phone, magic. At full screen you can see most of the targets. Maybe a colored target would be easier for viewer to pickup. And some of your targets coming from left I caught on to them by watching your moves. Most likely they are blocked because camera operator is standing to your right. great lesson biggest problem as a viewer is spotting the clay. A speck on screen gets me confused. Any more lesson like this with lottery for method to shoot.

Ben several things. Absolutely love your training methods. The way you explain the methodology has changed the way I shoot already. I've ordered the eye-D and can't wait to try it, eye dominance has changed as I'm in glasses now. Your training website, will there be a way to pay for that in US dollars?? I want to subscribe and would rather not pay the additional C/C fees to pay it in pounds.. Finally, thank you! Literally the little I've caught of your videos on fieldsports tv and now your channel has changed my shooting enjoyment immensely!!

Very very good lesson as usual. Slow motion really helps to see the methods being applied. Question: If I heard it correctly, the visual lead changed when the method changes. If the target needs a certain amount of lead how does the lead change with different methods? Or is it perceived lead based on the shooter’s visual perspective with each method? Thanks Ben.
@stevem4038
@stevem4038 4 жыл бұрын
If it is at the same kill point it is gun speed that affects the perceived lead needed. Different gun speed used for each method.
@chadnolte9134
@chadnolte9134 4 жыл бұрын
Steve M, thank you for the reply. Your answer is to the point of my question. Gun speed changes the “perceived” lead picture. ST is one speed, PA is two speed, which includes speeding up gun speed to the correct lead. Faster gun speed and the trigger pull reaction time give a smaller perceived lead. Am I correct?
@stevem4038
@stevem4038 4 жыл бұрын
Chad Nolte, if the gun speed matches the speed of the clay the lead needed (MT) is the forward allowance needed to compensate for the time it takes to pull the trigger and for the shot to leave the gun and connect with the clay. Ben's slo mo demonstrates the time this takes really well. With both ST and PA methods
@stevem4038
@stevem4038 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry didn't finish... with the ST and PA methods the gun is travelling faster than the clay, all time opening the gap between gun and clay so the perceived lead needs to be less. Otherwise you will be shooting out in front.
@chadnolte9134
@chadnolte9134 4 жыл бұрын
Steve: We are on the same page. I agree with your information. Thank you. So in the video when Ben asked, “did you visual lead change?” He is referring to their perceived lead as their methods change.
