I'm one of the few souls who jjust saw The Usual Suspects recently via Netflix. When I saw the younger Benicio, I thought I've seen this guy before. So I looked up the cast and realized it was him. He's a real total package. And he just proved himself over the years. Now he's one of Hollywood's very important actors. I just hope he doesn't retire. Much love from the Philippines, Benicio ♥️

Dan Rather looked like a grandpa listening to his grandson's stories of adventure. So sweet 😍

Somewhere there is an interview about the film where it is commented that Fenster was the least important character according to the script -- very few lines, no one wanted to play it, and in anyone else's take he would have disappeared -- the character that appears in the film is 100% how he chose to breathe life into it -- a work of art and now immortal ❤️

How come they never did anything with the “Possessed” lamp in the background ? What is this the set of “Amityville.”

saw the film back in 1995.. was strolling around the mall and tryna find a movie that would give me best bang for my buck.. lo and behold, the TUS poster got me curious even tho i only recognized Gabriel Byrne & Stephen Baldwin amongst them actors.. Benicio stole every scene he was on and folks in the cinema were shaking their heads in confusion of his lines, lol..

One of my favourite movies of his. Same writer as Usual Suspects, Christopher McQuarrie. His first time directing a film as well. I loved James Caan in that film.

Fenster was supposed to be a very minor, forgettable character. Just like the fodder you see in every film these days, they're the over-the-top characters that you expect to die early on. Del Toro turned that character into probably the most iconic character in the 90s, that's how fucking great he was. He dared and he got rewarded because it was just so good and unforgettable that it made every other major characters look generic as shit.
