Que maravilloso es ver la creación del que fue bonito pueblo, a gran ciudad. Hecho mucho de menos a este Benidorm, que considero mi pueblo, por muchas razones, como se lo he comentado a Tony Pérez (alcalde). 🙄😥

Love seeing those old photos of how it was before mass tourism changed it forever. Such a different place now

Benidorm. Go read excessive dependance on the British market. Once you've taken that in, read how Franco had to encourage/introduce tourism to fend off total poverty. It isn't only coastal towns and cities that benefit from tourism, the outlying districts feed of it as well. If you prefer to see the indigenous people of that area still going about their business on donkey drawn carts on dirt roads, more the fool you.

68blues Exactly. Spanish economy would have been like Moldova if it hadn’t a booming tourist industry. I’m fed up with nostalgic non-factual nonsense.

Have a good think about Benidorm now, poor back then yes, poor now? Going that way, peasants back then yes but they all survived, farming etc, lived off land, now? Have to adapt and fast, god bless em!

Modern tourism ruins EVERYTHING ! I will just be happy if the "ruins of the skyscrapers" will be finally blasted. . . (in 25 years from now ?)
