Thank you Ana, your post brings back happy memories. I had a holiday there a long time ago, in 1978. I was 16 years old and my memories of it are it was just developing tourism, my parents and me were the only Brits there, the other holidaymakers were Spanish and Germans. We stayed at the Hotel Sol, it was great, right next to the beach with fantastic Mediterranean cuisine.

You have walked by the flats at the port. My parents bought their flat there in 1967

A lovely video Ana of Javea, but should you return, you should visit the Arenal area which is in the opposite direction towards the Parador. It has lovely sandy beaches, shops, hotels and restaurants. You really should return to visit this part of Javea, as it has much more to offer.

Looks nice, prefiero la playa del Arenal. I had dinner at the restaurant at the end of the beach. It was good. The view at night was amazing.

Sadly the main promenade with bars and restaurants called’ The Arenal’ was not shown.This area is the Port and is only part of three sections of Javea,the other two being the old town and the main tourist area.Don’t get me wrong the port area is lovely but not the main area.

Can’t agree with you that it’s relatively cheap to buy a house in Javea. The real estate costs their seem to have its own micro economy with very high costs.

It depends, on the outside of Javea there are some quite cheap houses, obviously comparing to the ones that cost half million euros with sea view

Veno777 for the past 40 years Javea has alway been expensive, early days was noted for the numerous famous artist's who had taken up residence there. Both painters and musicians. Edmundo Ross was a long term resident

Anna just wondering if you took the scenic coastal route to Javea? Calpe to Moraira is a very worth while route having numerous cove's ideal for a days sunbathing or launching a boat or indeed a BBQ

less than 100,000e for a house ?????? it`s 2 million and over for a villa near the harbour.

Obviously there are different prices, don't compare a villa that's considered luxury to a house that needs to be Renovated completely

@@BenidormbyAna You`ll not find anything at that price in Xabia from Granadella to Cap de San Antoni. not even a run down house that needs a total renovation, starting prices for a simple one bedroomed small flat start at around 150,000e, and those houses around the harbour are far from luxury, they just happen to be in a much sort after area, luxury villas start at around 3 million up to 9 million e. Xabia was the tenth most expensive place in Spain to buy property.
