My advice if moving to spain would be to purchase a static caravan on a medium size site, with a static you literally have your yearly ground fee and elec and water, thats it! No local suma (council tax) dont require a spanish bank account, and the site im on here caravans are actually going up in value if maintained well! Property in spain has many uncertainties, if your not careful you can be done over. I have a static in el campello near alicante and one in the uk, best thing i ever did! As for requiring a visa to get into spain it just goes to show how soft the uk government is allowing endless immigrants into the country with no documents whatsoever, with spain you meet their requirements or that's it, you aint entering!

Agree, but things are changing. The 90 day rule has meant that many Brits without residency have had to sell their caravans or apartments and return to Britain. That means fewer Brits to support British cafes and bars, so they will close. Those with residency are going back to Britain too as they fear being on their own as the British immigrant community gets smaller and smaller. Brits can’t go to Spain for summer jobs in bars as it’s almost impossible to get work permits for low skilled work. There’s less British staff which will upset the most bigoted holidaymaker. Then there’s talk of hotels scrapping all inclusive as it’s unsustainable in this economic climate, too much waste, bar staff etc rarely get tips when drinks are free and people don’t carry cash, so they feel overworked and unappreciated. All inclusive is also bad for the environment with the wastage and extra food mileage. So once all inclusive has gone there will be even fewer Brits in Benidorm. But that’s not a problem. The tourist industry will need to attract tourists from other countries who have the benefits of EU passports. The resort will clean up. Fewer and fewer mobility scooters getting in everyone’s way, we’ll see bars and restaurants run by French, German and Polish nationals. A better tourist clientele will result. But that’s what the Brits voted for when they voted Brexit.
@DriveFarGolf8 ай бұрын
@@ELPaso1990TX Brexit was about giving more power in the UK to the 1% at the top, but was sold buy the 1% to the gullible bigots and racists who voted for it as an anti EU vote. No you are wrong, 90/180 days , example, imagine you are in your caravan in Italy for 10days, 40 days in France, 40 days in Germany ok, thus you did all the 90/180 days rules in Europe, cause Italy, France and Germany are all eu members state.if you fail to move out of Europe at 90 days sharp and at 91 days still in europe , a cop is checking ID'S at any border catch you, you your caravan will get in serious immigration trouble, you voluntary change your status from tourist,to immigrat and finally to migrant. Instead you should have said, 90/180 days in Spain and move to Gibraltar, then move to Morocco, after 180 days, return back to Spain again, anyway, this is quite a hard life on the road. It is the same if you have a house in Spain you will be able to live only 90 days in it. Very bad this situation.

Yes that's the most cost effective option - you will get full residency quickly, benefits and a place to live.

Fascinating stuff Lucy, thanks very much. I have a question please - around 1999 to 2000 we bought property on Menorca and my parents and I all had NIE numbers, are these still valid and if so, how can they be obtained if required?? Can this still be used to live in Spain?? Cheers Lucy, take care and all the best xx

NIE numbers do not change like your National insurance number But National Police issue residencias ( ask Spanish Embassy/,,Spanish National Police...Some residencias when issued were permanent some for 5 years some for 2 years ) Good Luck
@LucyYoungTBE10 ай бұрын
Yes your NIE number is for life but that doesnt give you any entitlements with regards visas. Even if you have an NIE you still need to meet the other requirements to obtain residency

@@LucyYoungTBE1990 I lived in Benidorm for about 18 months had NIF ( YES NIF).Returned many years. Later ask solicitor to renew my residencia She told me they expire after 5 years. And reapply Not true you have to surrender your residencia my paperwork shows 1990 as my date of residence That's why I keep saying ask someone who Knows ,,My fully qualified solicitor didn't know MINEFIELD COMES TO MIND

@@Guapaahi Yes residencias are different, an NIE is basically just a social security number, not a residency.

If my partner has an Irish passport and me British only have I got same rights as her?
@LucyYoungTBE10 ай бұрын
No, you only have automatic rights for the country they are a citizen. i.e Ireland. You can apply for a visa for another EU country and the process will be simpler. confact Kelly for more info, the link is in the video description

very confusing explanation regarding income on the first visa. she says Can show 28,500. presumably she means savings. then she says part of that can be 10k a month from a rental property..........so that is 120k a year. i think she needs to learn to explain better, maybe it was the camera. i dont know, but im pretty sure that you just have to show 28,500 of savings. Maybe someone can explain better.

The Digital Nomad Visa is an initial 1 or 3 year permit, extendable up to 5 years, and counts towards nationality Requirements; - You are a non-Eu citizen. - You are a remote worker employed by a non-Spanish firm or a freelancer with international clients. - You can document sufficient financial resources to support yourself and your family during your period of residence. - You can certify that you have no criminal records. - You are qualified to work in your field, as evidenced by a university degree or work experience. - You are currently in Spain with a tourist visa or you can enter the country as a tourist when necessary. With a surge in remote workers since covid, provided your employer is ok with you residing in an EU country, then i'd have though this would be one of the easier and more popular visa options?

Seems like a good option, what if I own my own business, trading 3 years+ with £150k in business bank, can I live there?
