I'm always surprised at what comes 'out of the closet' in your declutterings -- for some reason I think I know everything you have in your apartment! I agree with doing a second declutter after moving, you just never know what's going to work or not be needed until you're actually living in a space. Lovely video as always. I have been on a decluttering journey for a couple years. This is the year for me to let go of all the “amazing treasures” I have picked up over the years but keep in the spare room because they aren’t my style anymore. I crave simplicity like I need air and have made huge progress even just the last couple weeks. Objects look different to me now. I do not have a cluttered house per say but I have lots of items in my Buffett and armoire, closets, etc that I do not want to manage anymore!! I love watching your videos because you have just what you love and need and use. I’ve gotten rid of 2 truckloads of things that did not belong here anymore. Thank you for your inspiration!

I'm going to offload some sofa cushions soon (just a couple). I've decided instead to buy cushion covers for the remaining ones. I like to switch my décor with each season. It's an easy way to bring change without breaking the bank. Invest in colour and textural elements rather than increasing the quantity of cushions. Looking at professional styling photoshoots, I can't understand why a sofa or bed needs 7+ cushions. A bit of overkill. Benita, I like your leanings towards minimalism, simplicity, and neatness. I strive to have those qualities reflected within my home.

I admire your ruthlessness - I guess you’ve been doing decluttering long enough that perhaps it’s easier. I am so sorry about your sweet furbaby - they leave a big hole in our hearts when the leave. Re the Larq bottle, I bought one for my daughter and she loved it (and I love knowing her water is safer/better that plain tap water). I love your videos Benita, so calming and motivating. I’m not a cushion person, I can’t find a comfy spot when they’re on a couch so my couch is cushion free. Blankets are entirely another story 🤣. I knit and crochet and have too many blankets. Ah, that's hard to lose a dear cat like Mini. I just subscribed in March and saw her in many of the older videos. I'm happy Bonus is doing well. I have 3 of the enormous IKEA bags - never thought it could handle a bean bag chair, but it did! Edit: Love that coffee table you got from the previous owner of your apartment. It has such a dignified, strong character, satisfying proportions - and storage!

I usually do a thorough declutter after the holidays and I'm always amazed at how much accumulates over the course of a year. In addition this year I'm finally tackling our photo collection which I've been putting off for years. Such a great inspirational video. Thank you for showing the detail and your decisions; this helps me, as this is where I am sometimes, in the decision-making process. My husband is slowly coming around and getting rid of things; he even cleaned out his barn. We've been married 34 years and have 3 grown children, so we are empty nesters now....he tends to be more sentimental than I am. I just tell him, it is the memory to hold on to, not the thing. He's getting there. So sorry about Mini. :( She lived a good long life.

Hello Benita😃 - I have a new system with my decluttering - I will do an initial declutter and then go back after 3 weeks and declutter again (if I haven't used something that time period, I will donate or rehome). This is such a juicy video - the footage of you deciding on cushions gives me psychological permission to be as particular as I want about things like that. It could have been me on and off the couch. Great video. I always wished that I could find an exact duplicate of the parrot lamps… they were fantastic. Your wood floors made a good backdrop for the items at the end. I’m very sorry to hear about Mini. You and Bonus must miss her terribly. In October I had to take our 18 year old to the emergency veterinary hospital late one night… she was having seizures… there was no chance of recovery. I still find my self looking for her in her favorite chair.

I have a larq bottle. Had it for a couple of years. Use it mostly when camping. If the light unit was on the bottom and it had a sipper/straw then I’d probably use it exclusively.

Hello Benita. Prior to my move I decluttered many items. Once in my new home, I find myself continually finding more items that I no longer want or use. And always after viewing your vlog, I find inspiration to have another look in my cupboards and drawers....and voila....a few more items to let go.
