Actually, in Australian English we only use the word apartment, whether we own or rent its the same word. Condo is not a word we use at all, it's American English. So it's perfectly correct to use the word apartment for your new place.

It looks great! I'm excited to see the rest! I personally really love both apartments for different reasons. I loved how light and airy your old one was and your large patio with all the plants. I love this one firstly because it's in the location you wanted and then because the rooms are spacious feeling and still flow nicely while having more separation. Open concept can be wonderful but when you're one person and you live and work from the same space, being able to really separate areas from each other is super important! It's a lot easier to stay on task when you can put something else out of sight by closing a door for an hour or two! As you said in the tour, the bathroom is quite small, but in reality, we don't spend that much time in the bathroom moving around so a large bathroom can be a wasted space, especially for someone who is quite minimal. I cannot recall if you have laundry in your new apartment? I'll have to go back and watch the tour again. I personally prefer private washers and dryers as I struggle with allergies from different laundry products. As a person who takes care of their own laundry only, I would happily buy an inexpensive portable unit that can work in my kitchen and be tucked away when not in use. I am oddly excited to see where you've placed the litter box 🤣

So, so lovely. Amazed at how quickly you transform it into a home -- it's inspiring to see you just get on and DO those jobs (hooks, peg rail) that I would dither about for months if not years and wonder why my home feels so chaotic. Re apartment v condo: condo is American usage, apartment is used in many parts of the world to mean what you have (unit in a building, can be owned or rented). It's only "technically" a condo if you're in America, so forget that and carry on calling it your apartment. There are things called Wifi Extenders that may be useful - they pick up the signal and amplify it/redirect it (not entirely sure how they work technically but effect is this) - might be a neater solution than a double router. I believe they just plug into a wall outlet and act as a 'relay station' to other parts of your home. Loving the new place and so inspiring to see you transform it into a home. I realised when you moved out of your other space that the space itself wasn't magical, it was what you did that made it so.

Congratulations on your new place, it looks lovely! I love how you set up the entryway. I'd definitely vote for adding a narrow shelf above your hooks. We have one and it's so functional for holding narrow baskets where we gather hats, scarves, and mittens. Hiding in one basket is also a pair of ice treads for shoes (not sure what you call them, they fit over your shoes for walking on icy surfaces). The baskets can also function as decor, but we found white ones so they kind of blend into our walls.
@BenitaLarsson2 жыл бұрын
If I were to add a shelf it would have to be very narrow without any room for baskets really. It would be more for decor. Oh, I use those Ice grippers too on my icy morning walks. They’re are literally life savers😅
@kristenjohnson18082 жыл бұрын
@@BenitaLarsson Yeah they are, we wear ours all the time! :) If I remember correctly, our shelf is 4" wide, and our baskets are just short of that, but they're sorta tall so they fit the hats and mittens with no problem!
