My father loved Sinatra and Big Bands. I grew up listening to them. Mom loved show tunes, oldest sister The Rolling Stones, brother Whipeout, older sister The Beatles. I'm five years younger and have eclectic taste in tunes. I started taking piano lessons at 7, drums at 12 and singing in bands at 18. Live music is my oxygen. Vintage Soup Ach, it surely doesna matter where the music originated. It's what you make of whatever you're doing. Tthere were some very good songs written then although there was often too much "wall of sound", and a lot of the male singers in particular didna have very good voices. That's one reason why a lot of Haley Reinhart's covers have been so good. She has a far better voice than so many of the original artists, including Elton John. Compare Haley's rendition of this with Elton John's, maybe, but not with Aubrey's. With PMJ she has made this into a different song that you canna compare with the original. It's a virtuoso jazz rendition.
