Wow! I have been playing piano for 55 years so I picked this up reasonably easy. This is in my opinion a perfect breakdown of the way Elton plays, thank you so much. You are by far the best teacher on KZbin. Please carry on your lessons. They are probably very helpful for all levels. 👍👍🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹

I've found these tutorials to be exactly what I'm looking for. Not just the notes, but the rhythm and small fills that allow me to start with just the basic version then gradually introduce interesting elements into my playing. Currently my 'go to' channel for piano lessons. Thanks for all your hard work Pierre.

I have not touched a piano in 45+ years. Trying to read music again, and learn one of my favorites. Your instruction is fantastic, thank you for making this video. I have watched many on this song, non compare! Really helpful the way you teach the cords and the visual presentation is amazing! feel confident I will get there with your help, THANK YOU!

Speaking as a casual pianist, just when you start to get comfortable with the verse, that chorus kicks in and you realize that you're in for a *lot* more practice. Great tutorial and breakdown, Pierre!

Thanks for watching! I have an "All Blues" tutorial, but haven't made one that goes in-depth in terms of comping an improvisation. There are so many videos that I want to make! Is that sort of what you're looking for?

Accurate lesson. One more move he does on the C chord before chorus is pivoting between a C 2nd inv. doubled at the octave and an Am7 (really C6). He also makes ample use of broken chords to keep the groove flowing.

Great tip! No two performances are identical, but it always grooves like crazy.

I have zero musical talent but enjoy music (who doesn't). I think it's fascinating how it works and I enjoyed your video. You're really talented. My daughter is learning piano. My hope is that even if she doesn't play forever she'll have a good basic understanding of music. Thank you.

I really like your content. You found a sweet spot with proficient, mediocre and rank amateur pianists/keyboard players. Your breakdown and teaching style is very good. As I type this your breakdown of Hello It's Me is playing and I love that you just don't focus on the notes but also pointed out the need/purpose of sustain. It's much easier to learn piano today than it was in 1976 😂 Please do a video on the solo in Benny. I have the sheet music but your instruction is as good or better than the sheet music.

Is there a rule as to what inversion to play in the right hand or is the rule; "do what your ear tells you"?
@pierrejpiscitelli6 ай бұрын
Follow your ears, which we call using good “voice leading.” Don’t use inversions that jump around illogically or make your life harder!

Hi I first heard Benny and the Jets in 1975 selling jeans in a mjaor UK store after leaving the Navy, ( after 9 nine years ) I was 24. ( yes joined when I was 15) They played it constantly. Now I am 74 years old and want to play it on a piano at St Pancras Station London. I am nearly deaf. Looking at a lot of youtube vids, yours is the most friendly and easiest to understand.Now.... what piano do you have there, because I need to buy one.?

I use a Yamaha CP73 and Yamaha CP40. They're excellent instruments.

Thanks, I'd learn it also if you just played it through without even stopping to explain it. Great stuff.

I'm incorporating more play-throughs of sections for those who learn fast, but I'd rather "over-teach" and have people skip around than confuse beginners. Thanks for watching!

Oh, my gosh I was just following along when a spider crawled onto the piano. I jumped up and tried to flick it off but it snuck in between a black key and a white key. I'm so freakin' out right now i have to wear some gloves and Pledge the hell out of it before I can put my fingers on it again. Oh, the horrors!!
