I grew up with a few carpenters in my family. I know good work when I see it, and you are one of the best. These days you don’t see a lot of dedication to perfection but you certainly have the talent. Benny is adorable. Keep up the good work!

I bet that, if you would take a metal detector, you would find some nice old things! Like old kids' toys, old nails, and maybe some coins? Love that underneath that old shell, a stunning log cabin was hiding, what a find! 👍😎
@Madebymick8 ай бұрын
I actually let a couple of friends go over it with metal detectors, they did find a few of the cool old hand forged nails, and some old bottle caps, if they found any coins they didn’t tell me about it 🤔. The cabin is a cool find, I’m pretty excited about turning into a nice home, thanks👍

We took down an old 2 story log cabin back in 1979 in Edneyville, NC. We numbered and marked each log and reconstructed the cabin in Saluda. It was fun but time and money got the better of us and it was never finished. A fella from Dana bought it, marked the logs, and rebuild it complete. I went to see it and it was pretty as a speckled pup. - Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina 😊

I would've gone with the light grey too, to match the shingles. Wood weathers oftentimes to a gray color so it will always look brand new unless you decide to give it a whole new and different look some day.

what is pioneer dovetail cabin???
@Madebymick9 ай бұрын
The pioneers, or early settlers of the American west hand built log cabins from local trees. The corners were hand cut to a dovetail pattern which tied together the logs, and held them together for hundreds of years.
