Any character’s wardrobe, especially a character as critical to the story as Benny Blanco has immense detail and thought behind their outfits. The red is likely meant to symbolize his youthful, loud, brash nature in contrast to Carlito’s more subtle reserved dark tones. Yes it “80’s” but the select styles within this era speak volumes about a character’s personality & motivations.
