Viggo Mortensen's performance here is a tour de force. In my opinion, this is one of the best face to face confrontations in film-noir ever. How Viggo Mortensen portrays a character void of any self-respect and dignity, betraying his closest allies and friends, is outstanding. Kudos to him and, needless to say, to Al Pacino as well. One of my favorites scenes in the whole film. By the way, Luis Guzman's appearance in the middle of the scene to add tension is equally remarkable. Great movie! .

I thought Viggo was Puerto Rican the first time I saw this scene. The accent, slang and mannerisms were all on point. He's such a great actor.
