@@Davesworldyoutube Exactly. He is one to look up to as an example for all of us. I feel sorry for kids today that look up to a bunch of screeching, illiterate morons as their heroes. It's sad to see the loss of professionalism and good sportsmanship. Go back to contact sports in the 1950s and earlier, and the fighters just did their job, shook hands, and then went home with their paycheck. No dancing, no threats, no screaming, no boasting. Just mutual respect and professionalism. That's how real men do things. These post-pubescent children that we're stuck with now are an embarrassment for everyone involved, and a sad reminder of how far we've allowed our culture to go wrong.

@andrewsinclair7159
@andrewsinclair7159 7 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if it was a "real kumite" so much as like, a supernatural illusion conjured up by an immortal spirit warrior who wished to test Benny's morality and purity of heart. Benny passed because he entered the fight with pure intentions, did not fear death, defeated his opponent fairly, and then did a backflip instead of killing him. That's an A+, and that's why he won the coat and the money. He could've wished for anything, immortal life, billions of dollars, rule the world, etc. The Eternal Champion grants any such wishes for those who agree to face him with courage and honor.

@@johnmatonne7834 that's coz guys like Benny the Jet, Don the Dragon Wilson and Bill Superfoot Wallace were professional fighters....Bruce wasn't a professional fighter, I'm sure Bruce could handle himself against an inexperienced thug, maybe even in a few amateur fights because he did a lot of sparring, but he was more an actor who had a passion for martial arts than a fighter....he left behind an incredible legacy however I wish his fanatics would learn to accept reality, Bruce himself never claimed he could beat anyone, it's his family and fans that made these ridiculous claims, in particular his wife Linda because she profited a lot after his death from his fame.

Been living in HK for 10+ years now. Sounds like Benny was staying at the Peninsula on the Kowloon side, one of the best hotels in HK. It’s actually the hotel behind JCVD when he crosses the road using the bus to hide him in the foot chase scene in Bloodsport (and does his patented head flick). The mountain on the HK side must be The Peak which is where all the millionaires stay. So could have been a private place (some are huge), but maybe he was taken the other way, to the New Territories, which is closer to China and perhaps looser on the laws. Either way a really fascinating story and great call out to BOTB2! Tommy Lee, thank you for joining us! Love the film and soundtrack. If you haven’t done it before you should do a video on the great songs martial arts films have given us!

His story is very true. My dad knew him they are both from San Fernando Valley and my dad used to do private security and talked to him once. He used to tell me this story every time he saw Benny in a movie.

Having Benny the Jet on this channel is next level. He's in one of my all time favorite scene's featuring Jackie Chan. I must've broken my VHS recorder rewinding that scene from Wheels on Meals.

Great interview with new content. I've seen and own Wheels on Meals as well as Dragon's Forever. Benny Urquidez is truly one of the few people who embody the martial arts spirit and values, but I also feel the same is true of you Viking Samurai for you also are displaying the same things in as far as I've come to know you through your videos. Keep up the good fight and work.

I remember being 16 getting my ass handed to me sparring in American kickboxing. I read his book , I loved having a system to follow, tips on what to eat how to train. 6 months later I won my first fight.
