After the anxious wait to get the cresta a spot in Drag Week, the boys gear up to make their first pass, however an unforeseen setback will make for a challenging late start.

I've been watching Drag Week stuff since 2014 and I've learned this. Anyone that attends is an above average car person, but also way above average people. So many firsts this year, records smashed, personal bests bested, and Benny and his mates having a (hopefully) cracking good time thrashing the Cresta again.

This video series ( and last year ) has me wanting to take a fully custom nugget to drag week sometime in the next couple of years. Let's say a Chevy Spring/Geo Metro/Suzuki Swift that is completely rebuilt and 100% DIY. Not looking to kill the clock, but just push what you have as far as it can go for as cheaply as possible. Do a baseline and improve on it, who cares if you're running 20 seconds. Do engine managment with an arduino and just BE there to take part without having to go bankrupt doing it since you have no money anyway. that sound like a lot of fun.

I really enjoy seeing the Cresta live on to such great runs.. I had an '85 Cressida, minor body differences (in greenhouse and had the 5MGE DOHC engine). I think the body design of that era car is timeless, much like certain Mercedes of the era.. They have become cult cars in the US especially as drift cars. Barra's are incredible engines... too bad they never made it into US production Fords. Dan

I have no clue why they don't do it on the west coast. We dont have any rain at all during drag week, just 70 degrees all day. Plenty of the fastest cars are located here and there's enough tracks.

Love you guy's come 10,000 miles to race but the map you showed (11:19) going from VIR to BAL was a little off. Looks more like Iowa to BAL. MD. VA is right next to MD you don't have to go through IL,IN,OH and PA to get there...It would be like going from Laura to Cooktown via Alice Springs NT. I know you south of the equator guys have a different out look... PS spent years in living from Victor Harbor SA to Broken Hill NSW.. You guys rock....just don't get lost! Be safe --- Motor On!!!
