I remember going from ABEC 3s to ABEC 5s on my first pair of Bauers, and thought it was a world of difference. In retrospect, maybe the 3s were just munted from lots of inappropriate use and that's why the upgrade felt better 😁

Interesting point is originally everyone said Aluminum. But other metals had the "inium" ending. We changed to aluminium, but America kept aluminum.

I learnt a different method to hand pack the bearings using my fingers. Always hated pushing the bearings against my palm. But I also do truck bearings.

Just a thought With the old callipers could or would it be feasible to strip them then is necessary sleeve them to the diameter of some readily available parts ? Then rebuild them and keep them as spare that can actually be rebuild easily? Benny the ford whisperer!
