I love how your right thumb rests on the G string, and then moves when that string is needed.

Thanks! I find it serves two purposes - It's comfy to rest on the E string - has a little give and keeps my hand closer to the rest of the strings, and it also mutes the E string of course - stops all of that unruly sympathetic vibration from cluttering up the tone.

@@BennyTheBassman All of Rocco's muting is done with his fretting hand, therefor lot's of shifting. I don't know if many people are aware of that.

Cool. Now do it with the Rocco muting! You did a great job with that muting on maybe it’ll rub off!

Wow. Nice work dude!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for finally showing me the best way to go about playing this song. Been working on it off and on for a few months and I've got about 90%. You nailed it and filled in the gaps I was missing!!! That little run down after the 2nd "Can't cut loose without that juice" in the chorus.....wow. Rocco is alien...... Thanks. Excellent.

You're very welcome Warren!! Helping a fellow bass player out like this is the whole reason I started this channel. I really appreciate the comment man - helps to reaffirm that it's working :) Rocco is absolutely an alien and nothing cemented that more for me than when I was nitpicking though this all and trying to get it down note-for-note. Some of the choices he makes and the variations he does are just silly. It was a fun project. Are there any songs that you'd like me to cover? The channel is still pretty new but I'd like to eventually turn it into an all-request style weekly thing. Let me know if you've got something you'd like me to do here and I'll take a look at it. Happy practicing!!

Rocco Prestia is a beast...great job man! Love the tone!

Thanks! I agree. Insane innovator on the instrument (picked it up for the fist time because they didn't have a bass player one day - he was a guitar player before that moment). One of my biggest influences. Really appreciate the kind words. Thank you!

Thanks for the backstory on Prestia - was not aware of that, but it explains a lot!

It is indeed! And thank you. Well, I'm getting lots of practice transcribing music these days :) but in general the transcribing part will take me anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on how complete/repetitive the tune is.
