Goodbye 1973 train - The end of an era

When I 1st read the title I thought this was talking about London's 1973 Stock which will be replaced in the coming years... Little did I know Paris has a set of stock from 1973 being replaced too.

Nope, it was the driver who released the button and the doors reopened completely, probably an idiot at the front of the train who forced entry when closing. The driver probably pressed it again 1 second later to avoid any downtime (and the next idiot who comes running)

So glad I was able to ride these and the mp59s last year on my trip to paris. As a montrealer, It's insane to think these are as legendary as our Mr-63 and Mr-73s.

These are awesone most have ADO if you hold the switch. The MP89s win for sound in my opinion.

Great footage, and great view of the Eiffel Tower. Real shame. They look really cool. Unusual with the wheels, and I like the gradient tinted seats. I hope at least one is preserved. I just know you'll cover the replacements.

Munich still has metro trains from 1971 in service and even one of the three prototype units from 1967 is still in service. Just last week I sat in unit 106 from 1971

I think the MP73s shown here, will be replaced by MP05 or MP11, I do not remember which one. Probably not the MP89s

They already are being replaced with MP89CC trains since line 4 has been automated

Renovated MP89CCs (non-driverless) from Line 4 (which was automated) will replace the MP73s on Line 6. The MP05 trains were part of the replacement of MP89CC on Line 4.
