I worked for Becker Lifts from 1979 to the companies closure (at their Alperton works anyway) around 1986. I did everything from pump tank manufacture to lift car assembly. The lift in the video is a bit before my time though. These old hydraulic lifts were very simple in design compared to those of today. Good memories.

Did Becker make their own logic controllers? Some of the logic functions on their lifts do not work like a standard lift. Some lifts keep the doors open while not in use, like the automatic doors are treated as if it is the door unlatcher circuit. And the ones that do close the doors often get glitchy when entering a call while the doors are open. Sadly there are not many Becker lifts left.

It was a very long time ago, so that is a very difficullt one to answer (my job title was fitter/welder, but they put me in a sort of unofficial apprenticeship, so I got to have a go at most facets of production). I did work for a very short time in the panel shop, fitting din rails, connectors, circuit breakers etc, but I don't remember any circuit boards or the manufacture of them. The Motors ran off 3 phase Star Delta (I remember that) and we had a small goods test lift which we used to test the pump tanks. The pump tanks were really simple, with two welded support rails and two support rails for the motor and pump combos, a single solid vertical hydraulic pipe into a behringer block (with solenoid and two valves), then a single rigid pipe from there to the outlet (one short one also from the block into the tank from the relief valve section), plus the power JB on the side..... Sorry to bore you on this. They also had a unique Becker designed 'Pepper Pot' slowing valve, which I assembled and tested. Only ever attended one site vist though. In house designed logic circuits.... Hmmm probably not.

unusual to see the second lift in the UK. looks like a modernization. 3rd lift having a manual is different. its motor sound is partly felt as well. nice that it stops quickly. said boilers are HUGE. interesting to see how they worked on the lift.

It's a generic voice - nobody owns it. Companies buy these annunciators from manufacturers, so you'll see these quite commonly and most prominently in cheaper lifts. :)
