This lift tour is long over due. They were an amazing part of your channel that I am glad that you have brought back. Your current videos are truly unique, and show us parts of technology and history that we never would think to look at it. However, lift tours are a true classic that you pretty much invented and inspired others to do them.

Yay! It's Lift Tour Time is back! Very nice Schindlers there, so wish we had these epic lifts in the Uk too...! Oh, if piossible you should visit Montreux or Vevey and do some lifts there, and the trolleybuses there sound epic!

Woah that is a good collection of lifts. The Schindler 7000 hydraulic is probably one of the best hydraulics you can buy. It seems that older hydraulics are better than new ones. I went in an old 1960s Otis hydraulic in Debenhams in Stratford with Evans buttons. It was so reliable and I was happy to find one.

Huh... the connectors on that pluggable circuit board seem to be a variant of the eurocard connector, makes sense, it's fairly study and cheap.

Of course these are Schindler but Switzerland has many amazing locally manufactured lifts as well. Either way I always had something for the fixtures in Switzerland, these big glossy Schindler pushbuttons are absolutely amazing.

Commenting as I watch here-- since Schindler had so many lifts early on in Switzerland, having doorless with better than 2-speed leveling logic is not that uncommon. There's still a lot of doorless Schindler lifts with combinations of logic, for example the weird beast at watch?v=wOM2YX3wMBE

Very interesting video, didn't know you've already been to Switzerland! I know the hotel quite well since I've been there few times already. Regarding the R-Series logic you could not open: These do open easily. you can lift the two upper clamps slightly, then move them out to the left and right respectively. This makes the plastic coffin come of. This weird type of cabinet can be found often here in Switzerland for simple Miconic B logic with only a few floors or without direction-dependant floor calls. Oh and I've also been in the motor room of the car park lift, since the motor room is easily accessible (...and if you're there by car you want to use it anyway) and I have the apropriate key. You also got one or was it just open when you were there?

oh weird the schindler r series looks very similar to platt schindler with the same buttons this may have been a newer version of it

Retired now I think, however he might have heard about the making of this lift tour but didn't have enough money to get here as the only money he had was from installations of his lifts which were £1 each. XD Just thought I should keep the nostalgic story going. :D

I think, I need visuals to be able to understand it. But if you don't want to - nobody forces you to make a video about the logic.

How could you go anywhere in this luxury hotel? Did you get a permit for the machine rooms? I know the hotel but could not film there?

Permit for the motor rooms? I doubt there is such a thing. So if I went to reception and said "I am a lift surfer, please can I have a permit to surf your lifts and go in the motor rooms", there reply would be "Of course, lift surfers are welcome here".

So, you have a building of very efficient lifts... tell the owners not to modernize them!!! Full proper Schindler M series lifts with relay logic and intelligent leveling. Old lifts must have an advantage... until some stupid generic company says they are inefficient.
