Well, that was fun. If you get the chance, it would be nice to get your review on the dehydrated meals that you are eating. Every review I’ve seen on U-tube gives high praise to the meals, but I’m not sure I trust them. I think they get free meals for their reviews. You I trust. Thanks for sharing your travels. March on.

Open your dehydrated meals down the side rather than across the top. you can use a normal spoon.

Thanks Derek ours open along the long side but still find your covered if you not careful. The long spoons are the way to go for sure. No more looking like Winnie the Pooh with the honey pot 👍

Hi Anthony, what a great gift ! Here's a link to where I got mine - very good online shop and service excellent. They really are comfortable and a bonus to have the handy pockets, the one on the leg without the zip is meant for a map but it's perfect for a mobile phone for easy access if you like taking a lot of photos on the trail. So right: two nights or a week, pretty much the same gear. Food stores is about the only thing that adds more weight.
