Thanks a lot so pleased you enjoyed it. It’s amazing part of the coast and even if you get a few days it’s so worth it. Sure they are good chair kits that use your thermarest sleeping mat to turn into a chair. Very light and very worth carrying to rest your legs. We got them from Ultralight outdoor gear Hope that helps. cheers Ben

Was that Loe Bar at 25:55? If so don't swim there ever - there is a very steep gravelly shelf below the waterline and also rapid currents.

Just a note of caution with the water you collected. Just because it was coming out of a blue plastic water pipe don't just assume its connected to the mains as some comes from stored tanks and e en streams pouring into a 45 gallon drum with a pipe connector attached. It's me t for cattle so I would still filter as normal.

Hi there! I’m planning walk this summer from St. Ives to Penzance. Just think if I could sleep in my tent as well. Officially it’s prohibited but…Do you think guys in this distance for 4 days it’s to much time? Tom

Hey Guys!! Early nn the video Lois drew potable water from a self-filling spigot on the train. We live on the Old Fort (Road) Trail in North Carolina (USA). I would like to place one along the trail for our backpacking visitor. Can I ask you to explain how it works? Thanks! - - Stephen - - Veteran Emeritus
@wagnerswagner496
@wagnerswagner496 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen, I’ve been section hiking the SW coast path like this fine couple. As the path walks on private land, for much of it, most of it is farming land - particularly for cows and sheep. The farmers have run water lines and link them up to trough. She opened the compartment and it works just like the inside of a toilet, minus the flushing. So if the water level gets low it will fill up and you can self manipulate the lever like she did to get water. I actually didn’t realize it was potable - I usually filter mine. There are also many streams along the coastal path - similar to the Appalachian trail (I’m American and have lived in England for ten years).

Good to see Lois reusing a plastic bottle (about 1.45 min into the video). We demonize plastics but they are incredibly useful and have undoubtedly brought us benefits. I always try to reuse/repurpose plastic containers whenever I can do so. I can never understand why anyone would actually BUY a water bottle when we (humans) chuck away so many billions of useful plastic bottles every day!

How did you get permission to camp on the path?
@mattt6854
@mattt6854 3 жыл бұрын
Have been thinking of doing something similar: are you allowed to camp wherever or do you have to ask landowners... or is it just a case of being discreet, leaving no trace and moving on early-doors?
@Mrwillyface69
@Mrwillyface69 3 жыл бұрын
In england wild camping is illegal mate but be discrete and be tidy and no one will bother you but in Scotland it’s freeedom everywhere you can camp wherever you want allso drinking water is everywhere and easy to wash outside fuck England lol
